This is a powerful film🙏 Thank you for its production🙏 This man has such significance for our time because he teaches us that we have a moral duty to resist totalitarian oppression of our human rights🙏 Just as in Franz’s time the Church leaders today are so pathetic and weak so too few find the Grace of God to resist brutality of evil forces😭 Even Pope Benedict XV1 signed the oath although he was a young man at the time! 17,000 Priests signed the oath so the significance of the small number that refused is massive🙏 We remember great heroes like Franz, Thomas More, Maximilian Kolbe and Fr. Franz Rhenich another Austrian who was an inspiration to Franz🙏 Evil forces continue to try and impose secular Godlessness on humanity and their successes in the past 20 years are simply staggering👊 But all of us must chose God as the great heroes did🙏 Evil can only be defeated by the Power of God working through the heroes like Franz🙏 That is why he is such a powerful inspirational figure with total relevance for our times🙏

Why does fighting continue to happen? To me it is all about men who don't understand that fighting is always about not doing God's will and playing cowboys and Indians...women remember always give birth and by virtue of this gift never think about killing but about life and raising children to life a full life, which has nothing to do with killing another human being. Peace, praying for peace..even in this day of the war by Russia against the Ucraine...we women say NO to WAR...It makes no sense when we WOMEN give birth to life. Our Lady wants us to pray for peace so why not? PEACE, PEACE, PEACE...

He had a chance to leave prison. Choosing to stay there for his beliefs resulted in abandoning his family and his own death. I couldn't abandon my children and family like that.

Franz was TAKEN from his family by the Gestapo and sent to prison. He did not abandon or leave his family.

@@morecowbell235 No, he chose to obey God rather than human beings. Like St. Thomas Moore, he had his priorities correct even though it meant properly putting his family after God. Today, many confuse their priorities in a manner that rationalizes committing evil actions. Whether it is putting country, political party, alliances or even family before God, we show that our relationship with God needs to be strengthened so it surpasses all of these things. It was beautiful to see that his wife understood and supported his decision even though it brought her great suffering and misery. She is another hero in my book even though she might never be canonized.
