We living in a "Golden Age" as plastic modelers. Expensive, yes! But look at the quality of the kit, decals and total package. Thanks, Spencer, for featuring this beautiful model. Some of the details are amazing. I noticed the draft filler pieces on the top turret guns. A detail often missed in the age of "working" details. I was struck how similar the breakdown is to the Monogram kit. Great video Spencer.

An interesting historical note is that the main bomb bay of the B-26 Marauder is exactly the same size as the bomb bay in the B-17 Flying Fortress. Martin had an engineer measure the bomb bay of an early B-17 at Wright-Patterson Field and they copied the size exactly.....

Maestro Pollard, I've been a fan of yours going back to your builds in Scale Aircraft Monthly. It's nice to not hemorrhage $12 USD to see your work anymore.

Ah man, I have to say this is the kit I have been most excited about for years and I can't wait for my kit to arrive early next week! Super review, Spencer!

It's about time someone put out a new B-26 ! As a lot of others we waited long enough ! I'll stop everything to start this one. Thanks ICM !

Thanks for the review, i cant wait for this kit to come out. The only thing is this kit will be a fierce tail sitter and not much spaces to put weights .

In one fell swoop, the venerable Monogram offering is now consigned to being a curiosity. The fact that the fuselage frame on this new kit is isolated from the rest of the components hopefully bodes well for other variants. An early B, with different tail-gun design and, fingers crossed, the opportunity to offer the later F/G variants, too.

Yes, perhaps an early short wing & tail variant too. We can dream.

I just finished the Monogram kit. This ICM kit has many more parts and better detail. Looks like they handled the tail gunner position differently/better as well. The extras they throw in are nice, but no figures ?!? I enjoyed building the cockpit and top turret with figures in them. For that price I'd rather have crew figures than a poster/calendar. Good video. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful!! I can hardly wait to get mine. I put in the order a few days ago. Such a cool looking and iconic medium bomber from WWII that gets over-shadowed by the B-25 and others. It's way overdo that someone finally has released a new tool kit of the B-26 in 1/48th!!! Very welcomed by this model builder. Also, it's nice to see that ICM didn't polka-dot it with rivets. Rivet detail is not needed at this scale.

Lovely kit, it looks like. I’m waiting for the Flak Bait release but am sorely tempted to get this as well, to do in a natural metal finish. 😍

Good review Spencer. I think this kit definitely comes to fill an important gap in WWII 1/48 bombers. I'm sure it will look impressive once put together. THANKS!

The one thing we as the plastic modeler community can do is to support Ukraine. How they manage that never ceases to amaze me.
@mmouseav8r4029 ай бұрын
I’m not buying to support them, but because they have things I’m interested in; such as this B-26. Don’t care about the politics involved.

A big way in which Ukrainian models and accessories continue to be made is the country's very unusual draft. Men are only drafted if age 27 or older. So there are plenty of young Ukrainians still available to work, while their older brothers and fathers die at the front.
@markfranks13299 ай бұрын
@@mmouseav8r402Ummm, but by buying this kit or any other product from the Ukraine, you are supporting them......whether you like it or not.😂

I built the ICM Dornier Do217J-2 a year or so ago and was quite impressed with the kit. The only real issue (for me) were the decals as they put up a fight getting them onto the model.
@tomcarroll33389 ай бұрын
The B-26 was flush-riveted, so they would be almost imperceptible on a 1/48 Kit. I think ICM made a sensible choice to not include them.
@bruceculver59359 ай бұрын
I second this - I saw Kermit Weeks' early B-26 at his Fantasy of Flight Museum many years ago in Florida, and you can't see the rivets under the paint standing next to the airplane.....no way you'd see them on a model.
