It’s awesome to see this one survived so well, and to be preserved as found. I imagine most of these just rotted away since they had zero protection from the elements. Definitely the right call to leave the service notes on the inner fender. As always an excellent build Mr Ward!!

This is one of your best project to date. My first love is a Jeep, my second is the first Broncos. The one you are driving is the one I want because the front window is made to fold down. When you get that model with doors, all you have to do is roll down the window on the door and remove four screws and you have half doors. The panel behind the front seats is there so you can put on a half roof and have a pickup. You can also put on a full roof and have a station wagon type of vehicle. Back in the day you could take off the doors and buy after market fiberglass inserts like this sport model has and then you would have a sport. For me it is all about options and this vehicle has it all. Way cool, thank you for sharing.

Theo Hatch...wow, you and I are twins in that those are my favorite rigs as well...I've got a 49 Willys Cj-2a with a 289 K-Code Ford, 4spd, Atlas Transfercase, Dana 44 in back and Dana 35 our front, both with ARB lockers, and my Dad gave me, GAVE ME, his 74 Bronco with 347 Stroker, 4spd, Atlas II, Ford 9" in back and a Dana 44 in fronr with ARB lockers..l only have it cuz he can't depress the clutch, arthritis in his knee prevents it....

Great video! This summer I got a hold of a 1967 Jeepster Commando that I'm using topless this summer and plan to keep it for a while. The natural patina is awesome, saved from a painting booth (well sort of, the previous owner had gotten an estimate, car still has the graphite marks from the paint job study of the car before he sold it to me). I have a video of it on my channel, it doesn't come close to your videos, but I think this Jeepster is worth a look. It is no Bronco or Toyota, but still, it is not bad as a 4x4 vehicle, a survivor! I will look into the paint protection you talked about. I used boiled linseed oil on my Jeepster. Thanks for doing great work with vehicles. I'm a fan of your derelict line.

Need to do a 8701 Jeepster derelict... The 8701 was the competitor to this vehicle and released in 1967 but had a power top and other amenties which are just amazing for a SUV of that vintage. They were the high end of the Jeepster model line. Would be amazing!

@Mikeywil0003
@Mikeywil0003 6 жыл бұрын
I think a Jeepster derelict would be really cool. I kind of have a love for the 72-73 Commando, mostly because of my love of Scout II's, they are kinda similar in styling. I don't think Jeepsters were that close of a competitor to one of these early Bronco roadsters. The Bronco roadster seemed more like a competitor to the Jeep CJ5. A Jeepster would be like being in a Lincoln compared to this thing. It seems like back when these were new, a stripped Bronco with no doors would have much more appeal to a farmer/rancher than someone that wanted to drive it every day.

my one suggestion, would be to consider working on an adhoc wifi instead of bluetooth for the stereo. Maybe a logitec (LMC) squeezebox or similar. Nothing would change as far as appearance, but it would allow greater functionality.

I like it Johnathan. The only things I would have done differently would have been to left the stock ride highth, replicated the stock hupcaps as shown in the original pictures and used the wheel and tire combos similar to other derelicts you have done. I wouldn't have used the aggressive off road tires for this one.

Also, if you're going to do a "derelict" version of the Bronco roadster (and I honestly don't mind the concept--definitely prefer classic broncos and othere 4x4's with original patina and don't mind mod's/upgrades for drivability), why wouldn't you make it a ROADSTER instead of a super-lifted bro-mobile?
