I WOULD IN A HEART BEAT IF ONLY CONVERTED INTO ALL E.V. MODE 4X4 & EVERY THING........ & THEN I REALLY PONDER WHAT THE FULL COST WOULD BE IN ALL HONESTY..... EVEN IF IT'S ANY 4X4 TRUCK BODY...........
@charlieandhudsonspal13124 жыл бұрын
Marc B no way. It’s not worth that. They have the donor truck, that’s brakes , fuel, suspension, everything. They do cosmetics and attach the body . You supply both trucks it has to be less

We had one of those. Single cab with the V-8 318 it was a Navy blue surplus Truck. It didn't have much of a top end. But WOW WOULD IT PULL. They were Very Sturdy Trucks. Positive Track Rear 2 wheel drive. Brought back memories THANKS FOR POSTING

The 60’s-80’s Dodges were hands down the prettiest of the big three.

Man I love these old crew cabs! I owned one for years overseas, 6 banger 225 with 4WD purchased and sold for under 2K. great build!

The attention to detail, engineering prowess and craftsmanship are second to none! Just perfection. It's a shame these will only ever be available to the super-rich, though. Not saying it's not worth the money, just lamenting my inability to ever see one of these in my driveway!! You truly have some fantastic builds!! Thanks for sharing them!

I think ICON has struck a chord that we didn't know existed - but now can't live without. I hope some other companies pick up this trend, and we can see even more projects.

The USAF had hundreds of these rides when I was serving in the mid 1970's and they were called "6-Packs" well for obvious reasons. Most of the ones I was familiar with in the military all had slant 6's under the hood too with their standard transmission on the floor and as such were...underpowered compared to today's trucks. The reason they were known as a "6-Pack" had more to do with number of people that could sit in a seat and safely ride in the vehicle then the number of cylinders under the hood. They were very utilitarian and there were ZERO luxury items installed by the factory in those trucks which were as bare bones as a vehicle bound for military service that you could imagine.

I love watching these over and over. It's 2019 and I'll probably keep watching these until I'm a hundred years old. Jonathan Ward has done some brilliant design work and it is very satisfying to get the in depth look we get in these videos

I was a little kid in the 60s and a bigger kid in the 70s. My Dad was career Air Force. The government owned tons of these things and they were Rocks!. That said I don't know why the Big three (at least Ford and Dodge) didn't snap to the gold mine they had in these trucks. Way up into the late 90s people still hadn't found the beauty of a "Six Pack". What a shame they missed out. Anyway, water under the bridge. This is a really nice example of one of these old "Battle Wagons", and a nice video as well.

I love what you guys did with this truck. The idea of taking a classic truck and applying new technology to pretty much everything aside from the body itself has always appealed to me. Given the funds and opportunity, I would love to do this to a 1970s j10 jeep, or an 80s ram-charger.. Keep up the excellent work. The ideas and ingenuity of this type of work will no doubt continue to inspire others like myself to come up with great builds like this.

My dad had the same red-lead colored truck with a 4spd, 4x4 with a Perkins diesel in it..I remember as child going to the auto parts store and him buying heavy pleather replacement seat covers.. when in that day all pretty much had bench seats in them..just a heater and a AM radio and the smell of cigarettes and spilled coffee..

these two trucks you have built , by far are my two favorite car builds on planet earth. I get it , I understand every bit of it. I rescued one of these crew cabs out of the woods . The one i saved was an old air force unit. I am doing what I can to save it. My only hope it to get it road worthy again. so that many people can see this piece of rolling history

I just bought a d200 and i am going to convert it to a 12v power wagon, i am going to keep the old rusty paint on it though
@lifelong54255 жыл бұрын
That is wonderful...old is new, generational build looks so in tune with what is being driven these days. Who knew we'd be driving trucks like cars these days..Just need them to make the parking spaces bigger again. Love to see that in old Navy colour, blue/grey matte finish.

This is 1 tough and very sturdy looking truck,the first time i saw this was in a 1994 movie called the getaway starring Alec Baldwin and Kim Bissinger at the ending they had asked that oldman to give them a ride to Mexico and they give him $40,000 for the old truck and for him to keep quiet,the truck in the movie was this same color but really old and banged up,but this here is beyond beautiful

I love old Dodge pickups. The D200s are my favorites after the Sweptsides. Icons are over-built with incredible quality. I respect that, and it's a niche that has been pretty much ignored in favor of making customs built to a price point. Keep it up Mr. Ward, maybe other builders will follow your lead, but you will always be the originator of these beautiful builds.

Incredible work and detail breathing new life into these old classics that have bucket loads of character not like the unremarkable cars we have today . As I'm from London the only 2 British cars I would deem worthy of the "icon" magic would be a MK2 jaguar or a rover p5 coupe . Great work sir
