Unless the Tekton are using a 'S' series steel they won't ever be as hard or as strong, which for most may be enough, but for the life of the tool the Icon can be hit harder, more times before pins bend or edges dull, so it may be a really good buy even though the price at first is a shock comparing what that amount can buy. I like the attention to detail in that the Icon are beefier and have a tapered end for more focused directional energy transference. They also fit snug in a protective case to protect from air. Even though I have many chisels I still had to buy these.

I took mine to work. I had the Pittsburgh brand at work. I’ve bend a few of the Pittsburgh ones.

A benefit to these is if they break you can walk into a store and get it replaced compared to doing an online claim and wait for shipping and be charged for it.

I think so as well. Harbor Freights "Chief" brand of air tools has couple air hammer .401 bits that are also made in the USA that look exactly like Mayhew .401 bits

Both icon and tekton are rebranded Mayhew. But the icons are 2x the price. Ridiculous. At least tekton is the same price as Mayhew

I looked into Mayhew chisels to buy but none of them ever listed the alloy they used, so I wondered why HF is using a superior alloy and no one else advertises it if they do?

Best pushes are vintage ones lol. Proto, Snap-on, Starrett, Wright, Klein wohhhhh nelly I love em. Mac & Proto stuff went a bit downhill in recent years with the whole Stanley Black and Decker massacre. Mayhew is on par with Craftsman-Western Forge USA, which is fine, I'm happy I can still get USA made punches and prybars at a good price for at home without paying Industrial tool supply prices.....since you know, the Craftsman massacre.
