Ranch hand option is so you can drive around with the tailgate down on the ranch with all your fence posts and everything else you need sticking out the back and still have your spare with you. Love this Bronco and really appreciate the explanation of the engine compartment and all the other great details thanks, Jonathan

I love what you are doing. It reminds me of what I am building but to a whole other level. My car is a 1940 Dodge business coupe with original paint/patina outside and an original looking interior. A home built chassis with E46 BMW M3 suspension/rack/diff. with a B block stroker dodge engine and 727 trans. Appears stock on the outside but goes like hell as some modern Challengers and Mustangs have found out. Keep up the great videos and thanks for sharing. Cheers

Beautiful as always - ' Don't know that there is a safe comfortable solution or that anyone else would agree, but the seat's bulk is out of proportion to the rest of the Bronco. If there is a solution for under $20k, it would seem worth the money.

You ask an interesting question about the spare tire on the side of the vehicle. I do not know why; I only know my 1947 Jeep has the spare tire mounted on the side of the vehicle. I also remember seeing 50’s and 60’s step-side pickups with the spare tire mounted on the side of the vehicle. My guess is mounting the spare tire on the side of the vehicle kept the tailgate clear for easy access to the bed of the vehicle.

Jonathan, I'm a very, very long time admirer of your products and have watched every KZbin you've ever done and i have to stay this was your most informative of them all. You have gone over many things you've never discussed before, or should I say that I recall and I greatly appreciate that. Since you were comparing Icon to the "others", may I ask why you don't use the 10 spd Auto that is in the F-150, which is also paired to the Coyote motor that some of the "others" use? On that same topic why not the proximity sensor key with auto unlock/lock and the push button start? I've never seen "cut" rear fenders on an Icon BR, have you done any of those and if so may I ask your thoughts? As always, thank you for the eye candy entertainment and for something to dream to own!
@ICON4x4Design4 ай бұрын
Taylor, we are going to prototype to ICON, Bronco with more contemporary multi speed transmissions. Personally, I have never been a fan of them because you’re constantly feeling shift transitions. In my opinion, they were developed for new productions vehicles to reduce the cost of properly engineering the more efficient engine, by keeping the RPMs in a comfortable range that complied with certification standards. They are also not viably rebuilt, while the ones we have been using can be rebuilt by almost any shop. I might be wrong, looking forward to driving the two samples we are building. Regarding cut fenders, I personally find that the original body shape is perfect, and that the cut fenders lose some of the charm. Additionally, our coil over suspension eliminated the need to cut when putting on larger tire and allowing proper suspension travel. Push start? I feel the old school turn of a key to be part of the charm, and it eliminates a common failure. Thx!
@taylorj959a4 ай бұрын
@@ICON4x4Design Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions and to do it so quickly. Interesting you are going to prototype the 10 spd; and I see your point on serviceability. In reference to the cut fenders I'm in the middle, but they do serve their purpose for wider tires. Where I live most have been cut to accommodate them as everyone drives on the beach and you need the flotation as our sand is the type where you need it. I like the reliability of the key ignition but don't like that it's right where my knee would be in an accident in so many vehicles. The push to start isn't the big deal but the auto lock/unlock with the proximity sensor is so nice when your hands are full or it's raining. I was just asking as I assumed it was part of the architecture of the Ford components. Thanks again for making so many wonderful products and such great videos.

Patina(this in particular) is i'll suited and detracts from cohesive synergy of end product. The strict use of rear tear drop fender and never a cut or fender flared, even periodish, is a fail to optimize these builds. Understandably, this plays into the price and demographic of customer base. Ultimately, the sum outcome of these cars is an unfortunate cold, humorless, less fun vehicle, which could easily be avoided. You've done enough of these snob appeal resto-mods, obviously makes no business sense to change course with demand outstripping supply and having to broaden scope of manufacturing demands. After blowing my mind with initial output of these cars, they now underwhelm and bore me, and less sophisticated Bronco builds are much more appealing and evoke a real inspiration and genuine smile. My opinion only, otherwise, kudos to all that's great about your products.
