Back in the day, Jackie Chan and his stunt team would suffer so many injuries during filming, most insurance companies refused to cover them for their movies.

3 parts of this movie that really make me crack up laughing are: 1. When Carter starts dancing like Michael Jackson in the middle of the street after blowing the car up 2. When Lee and Carter are bonding and practicing disarming techniques while Edwin Starr's song "War" plays in the background 3. When Carter says "I know that ain't the bomb. Get that bomb away from me." Towards the end. And trust me, the blooper reels for the remaining two movies are just as funny when it comes to the slip-ups with the dialogue. Also, RIP to Elizabeth Peña (Johnson), Chris Penn (Clive Cod) and Tom Wilkinson (Jun Tao)

After you finish this trilogy check out the two movies he did with Owen Wilson Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights.
Fun stuff 😂👍 Rush Hour 2 actually gets funnier, even more fun than 1, I think. JC was actually getting old when he started the Rush Hour movies, he is 15+ yrs older than CT ‼ JC's Hong Kong movies, at his prime (in the East), were much more fun ... those action sequences then, were even more creative, faster (in rhythm), and fun ... and definitely more "risky"! Nonetheless, Rush Hour movies are fun!
@SkrulzieАй бұрын
That is why JC is a legend. Even as age catches up to him he still tries to maintain the high speed combat scenes.

Shanghai Noon is another good Jackie Chan pairing but with Owen Wilson.

Ah you know Tucker and MJ became friends later. Tucker was also at MJ's 30th anniversary concert and just like in this film he's doing MJ's signature kick with the wrong leg, and causes MJ to collapse in laughter. :)
@MadcapMattАй бұрын
One of the best aspects of Jackie Chan's acting/fighting is he's not always perfect and he gets hurt all the time. Makes him feel more relatable. He also borrows his physical comedy from silent movie star Buster Keaton. Something you'll see more of in the Shanghai movies with Owen Wilson.
@k.delpino1124Ай бұрын
Released this very week in 1998. Once Lethal Weapon finished it's franchise, Rush Hour was the next Buddy Cop phenom around the corner. Jackie Chan, the world's biggest action star looking to make a bigger impact on American audiences. Jackie had made 4 films with American studios (1980-1985) and although with moderate success, wasn't quite a star in the U.S. yet. But by the 1990s, his films were on video and cable while certain notable films were being re-released into American theatres:Rumble In The Bronx, Supercop, Jackie Chan's First Strike, Operation Condor, Mr. Nice Guy and The legend of Drunken Master. Chris Tucker of ATL, Georgia was among the up and comers' in the comedy game with stand-up performances and a few films. dir. Brett Ratner signed on to make Rush Hour after working with Tucker in Money Talks (1997). Tucker was not the original choice for James Carter. Wesley Snipes was the closest to being involved and instead worked on making BLADE (same summer). Chan & Tucker turned out the action comedy of the year with great chemistry, good sequences and laughs. Legendary composer Lalo Schifrin with another great score. The Def Jam soundtrack was one of the biggest of the decade. RIP to Elizabeth Peña (Detective Tania Johnson), Philip Baker Hall (Captain Bill Diel), Chris Penn (Clyde), Judo Gene LeBell (Taxi Driver) and Tom Wilkinson (Juntao). Your gonna love the sequels and don't miss any of those outtakes.

Fun Fact about "Rumble In The Bronx" (1994). He broke his leg during filming, but that same year he was filming and released a movie called Thunderbolt (1994) where he plays some sort of NASCAR Driver, driving a car 90% of the movie, and hardly any martial arts. Definitely worth a watch if you've never seen it. The only time he has used a stunt double.
