Iconic German restaurant in Fort Worth closing doors after 56 years

The last of my local German friends who took me to Edelweiss recently passed away. End of an era, for sure.

We ate there every year and we visited on Monday. Were told that the landlord was raising rent to an unbelievable amount.

Despite the stiff upper lips and all, I seriously doubt it reopen elsewhere. It had been declining a little bit by the end of the 2000-oughts, then Bernd selling, and much of the staff leaving and starting Little Germany ....

Maybe a lot of black people or Hispanic people don't eat German food I mean Germans are a white culture kinda like a lot on black and Hispanic people don't eat bugs or dogs like some Asian cultures do. It's not a race/ racist thing it's about culture. And that's all it is ..
