It would be interesting to hear the story of how you two met. Thanks for the video of London. I used to dream of visiting, but that is fading away. I have noticed that there are many British people coming to the U.S. for the past couple of years and I don't blame them. As long as people try and stay out of the big cities, it is better.

I live in Edmonton and have lived in Tottenham. These are areas which some may consider has a high level of crime. Let me tell you that London is safe. It is only unsafe if you are part of a gang, because gang members don't usually attack randomly, but only those who they would consider their enemies. As long as you keep yourself to yourself and don't carelessly display your wealth then you won't have any problems in London, even in the more deprived parts of the city.

I’m half Polish half American born and raised in Australia. Moved to London in 2018 but the rapid deterioration of the city ( and entire country) became unbearable and depressing. Decided to move to Poland March this year and loving it. Clean, safe cities, well dressed people, fantastic infrastructure, strong nationalistic spirit, and hatred for illegal or mass immigration. If you want to live here, you have to be useful (means work), integrate, and respect the country’s values and culture. If you don’t, the Poles will make you don’t feel welcome - no such a thing as political correctness here.

Billionaires need to integrate instead of living in different countries whilst taking from state finances and not giving back enough. I've read the same bullshit of blaming immigration for societies woes in newspapers from every decade in the past 150 years, it's nothing new. Look it up. When will you people learn that the system is the problem. The US is a nation of immigrants, made by mass immigration. And those first immigrants committed genocide. Now it's the descendents of these people, the imperialists, who are causing most of the world's problems. They are causing a perpetual refugee crisis. You're blaming the wrong things and all the while the extreme capitalist exploiters are getting away with destroying the planet and affecting billions of people's lives. You're a useful idiot to the imperialist agenda and you need to realise it and join the people actually trying to make a positive change, instead of blaming 'immigrants'.

I lived in Japan for 5 years in Kyoto city as a University student. l visited Yokohama, Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, Shiga, Nara, Kobe, and Fukuoka over the years. The cleanliness, rare crime, and high fresh air quality made me realise other western countries are proportionately behind. I went to South Korea but it also proved to be better. Japan is still intact thanks to their very strict immigration control. I don't understand why western leaders watched their countries wreck without intervention. The damage is getting gradually out of control and irreversible.

Don't let this dissuade you from visiting this wonderful city. I went to the UK this summer, spent about 8 days in London and it was a great visit. Our hotel very close to all these locations and we walked on these exact streets. The only bad smells we came across was in Hyde Park (fresh horse poop that had been run over). There were a lot of the Romani gypsys begging and had tents in grassy medians and on the edges of parks, but we never saw any on the sidewalks. The phone snatching thing is a real issue and we did see those masked villains on ebikes and scooters. You have to be very aware how and when you use your phone. I would go for walks on my own (female in my 60s) at night, on busy street and walk along the Thames, never hassled (wanted to soak as much in.) The parks and museums are wonderful and free. Food is was cheaper than my last visit to NYC or Boston, and the quality and variety of cuisines is vast. Visited several other areas in the UK, the other two I really enjoyed were Cornwall and my new favorite place on the planet Scotland. Wow what a beautiful country. The Scots are extra lovely people. Only spent 5 day in Scotland - Glasgow, Edinburgh, the Highlands (on walks) looking to go back for much longer and really explore.

I lived in London from 1987 to 2018, including two depressions (early nineties and 2008). I never saw anything remotely like this. And the fact that nobody is bothering to remove the wrecked and abused phone booths just shows a universal spirit of not giving a f---, letting it all go to Hell. I loved this city, but now I'm back in my native country and I'm glad.

Manchester isn't any better. I've seen the decline here over the last 25 years and especially the last 10. I'll always remember what my mum said before she passed away, she said I'm glad I had the life I did with the way things are going in this country. She was born in 1941 and it seems like the 50s and 60s was a fun time going off her stories she told. Lots of optimism after the war, everything new and built up, nicer people in general who dressed better, less crime, cleaner streets.

No buzz and so much more expensive it felt punishing. I blame the current Mayor, who is useless and the work from home culture since Covid. But also the mass of homeless who are not from the UK and crime at street level is out of control. London today is an expensive dangerous dump. I wont be back

@@Ms.Prince To an extent, but the idea that Brexit was primarily about immigration was a meme that was promoted by remainers and the left so that they could label all brexiters as bigots. For many, voting to leave was because they objected to having a second government in Brussels which was never voted for (snuck in via a Trojan horse trade agreement) and was taking more and more power away from UK governance. Many Brexiters were fully aware that Brexit wouldn't solve the immigration problem and that they would in fact be punished for this act of insolence - which has been proven to be the case.

It was pretty clean for a big city, we saw mostly British people or minorities who seemed to be integrating, my aunt took me to clubs in the evening and we were totally safe, we enjoyed talking to locals while in the pubs. I’ll never forget being in Bath the evening of a major football win against Germany and celebrating in the streets. Maybe it’s better I don’t go back, remember it how it was.

Who will gain and who has the power and influence to steer the western democracies in this direction? If there is a “plan”, then its their plan. Who are they?

Yes, as an American have visited London .. a great place. However, we face similar situations in the USA… but DEPENDING where (State/city) you are. I am a native New Yorker during Rudy’s and Mike Bloomberg's time it was sweet. Unfortunately, the lug nuts voted in empty suits. I am hearing that people are finished with the BS at least in NYC. San Francisco, LA, Chicago, etc GOOD LUCK !! We are two weeks away from November 5th. Trump is elected, not that he is the be-all and end-all, we will stop the rush to the bottom. I hear from many Americans, white, black, Asian, Hispanic, etc they are finished with this insanity. My opinion may be wrong, IF TRUMP IS ELECTED keep your eyes open for a change of direction! Good luck to my dear British friends in the UK and especially London! KEEP THE FAITH WE WILL HIT THE BEACHES AGAIN AND FIGHT BACK !!!👍👍😄🇺🇸

I am born and raised a Londoner lived in London since early 1960s and still do, they will take me out in a box. I remember seeing hoardes of homeless sleeping under Charing Cross station in Labours early 1970s, inflation and 90% taxation through the roof, recessions, power cuts, walking around with candles, electricians and all unions on strike, 3 day week, dustmen with garbage bags stacked sky high left in street, stench was another level and rats everywhere, gravediggers on strike, bodies piling up, oh did I mention the stench, uppers, downers, purple hearts, tripping on acid tabs, 30p a pint, alcohol filled punch ups (Queensbury rules) at pub turning out time. Football firms smashing the place up. Bank holiday down to Margate, Southend, Clacton, Brighton. Mods, Rockers, Punks, Skins, Bover boys and casuals, flick knives, stanley knives, razor blades, knuckle dusters, axes, meathooks, meat cleavers, kung fu stars, baseball bats, steel toe cap doctor martens,. Black & White telly, standing to sing the god save the queen when the test card with the girl and clown came on. space invaders, Vespa curry, boil in the bag beef, smash, semolina pudding, blancmange, choppers, space hoppers, Butlins Bognor or Butins Clacton if you woz lucky! It's the random nonsense that makes the UK unpleasant. You would walk around always aware of your surroundings and more and more paranoid about your personal safety/leaving belongings... Having to work with lazy Somalis etc praying in the office.... I had to leave... Now living in East Asia and much happier. Who wants to live with this kind of stress? Also the grey skies in the UK keep everyone perpetually miserable. I will say something racist but I dont care. I am from Balkans in Ireland since last 5 years. Even though we are different, we Europeans arent as different as we are from rest of the world. I am generalizing here since of course they are great people and bad people everywhere but I am talking general mentality. People from Africa, Asia and Middle East can of course be great and of course thats what usually came to Europe 20 years ago or more, the more cultured people who wanted more from life. Majority of people I met from rest of the world now I dont want anything to do with really. Not because they are criminals or something its because I really cant connect to them. I never heard them talk about hobbies or passions, they have very narrow view of the world and life itself, very materialistic too. Again this is general rule across the board but it holds true. The best example of this is recent boxing events in Saudi Arabia... The people just arent into it. They arent into much of anything really. There are people like this in my country aswell but they arent majority, its complete opposite in rest of the world. They have very survivalist view of life almost and people of this type is increasing all over the world in every culture now. This is biggest issue I see rising everywhere. The Western civilization was at the forefront for a reason, once materialistic stuff was solved we were into culture and entertainment. I see complete deterioration and devaluation of life happening across the board and its not by accident of course. Its due to overpopulation forcing everyone to go into survival mode since there is so much competition.

I shared a flat with some college mates in Chiswick, Camden and Wapping in the early 1970's after being brought up in rural Hampshire.Loved the old city docklands, and used to drink in the Grapes at Wapping every Friday night pubs, the Camden scene, Hampstead heath. Some of the best and happiest times of my life. l loved it and found visits back to the country boring and couldn't wait to get back in town. It was full of life and was buzzing. Went everywhere on the buses and tubes and made some wonderful friends. Thats was 50 years ago. Today.. I try and avoid it if at all possible.. Yuk..... its smelly, grubby, seedy, dirty, nasty and full of bad tempered people who look like they don't give a s**t about themselves, their life or anyone else and dare I say it, full of people whose natural language isn't English. I have no problem with them as individuals but they seem to dominate the population with their less than desirable habits. It really appears to have gone to the dogs since my spell there in the 70's and 80's .
