Thank you for this presentation, Marcello! A great combination of images music and quotes.---Greta Garbo didn't say much but what she said was worth listening to. She had so much talent and in a variety of areas. I've seen pictures and video of the beautiful home she created for herself in New York. From what I've seen and read, Greta Garbo could have been a designer/decorator or acting teacher and who knows what else as well as actress. She had confidence too: she said once that she could have been successful in a number of careers.---Interesting that Miss Garbo is quoted as saying she had difficulty communicating. I remember that at the time of her death a lady who had been a child actress and who had worked with Greta Garbo said of her in an interview: "Talking to her was like talking to a sheet of paper. She gave back nothing". Maybe there was a problem with anxiety or just shyness.---I noticed in some of the photos we see Greta Garbo wearing what seems to be the same ring on her left hand. I'd like to know more about that: something from the wardrobe department or her personal jewelry? I've read that Greta Garbo wore a ring that was a gift from a couple she was friends with, a ring that had been in their family for centuries.----Funny anecdote about Greta Garbo: Miss Garbo was asked if she work high-necked old -fashioned dresses because she liked that style. She replied, "My neck gets cold".

Greta Garbo 曾是母親家中長輩的最喜愛最喜愛的好萊塢明星。小時家母就曾給我講過，外婆也曾給她講過的這個故事：（應該是三十年代吧）她的第一部有聲電影公映時，在上海非常轟動！外婆還因此而坐立難安，因怕她的聲音不好聽！(之前她已是默片的大明星。) 那是講述一個國家的女皇，女扮男裝，在他國墮入了一段悲哀的戀情。最後她在船上，恢復了女皇的身份，載著情人的遺體回國。她站在船頭，向著大海悲傷地大聲地喊著：Never ！後來據家母說，Garbo 的聲音是較低沉的聲線；不是那樣嬌柔的聲音，可是也與她的冷豔高傲的氣質出奇地配合！當然，在她全世界的粉絲們看來，她永遠是最好最好的！我也跟隨著母親，外婆，自動地自以為是的，成了冷艷高貴的 Greta Garbo 的，忠實的粉絲。第一次看到她的電影是 “茶花女“ ，男主角好像是羅拔泰萊。 2020.3.26.晨.
