There appears to be millions of people in the US who don't have access to healthcare and the US has squandered huge obscene amounts money on wars accross the globe, killing billions of innocent human beings. And after this pandemic I'm sure there will be an awful lot of suffering caused by the millions made unemployed, also there is a lot of poverty in the United States. I think it was a big understatement to say we have some way to go. People in Mr Buffets position shouldn't really be commenting on these things that don't affect them how can he understand what it's like to be struggling to survive struggling to keep your head above water. He should stick to investing theories, stick to giving sensible investing advice, that might benefit ordinary people. And I don't think things are really much better here in the UK, in fact over recent yrs we appear to be going backwards, going downhill rapidly. God help us if we end up with an American style healthcare system

Didn't you hear the part about his dad losing his job - then losing all his money in the bank - when he had two small children at home? He was having to charge his groceries. (It starts right at 30:00). Then Warren worked at a grocery store at age 10, and the depression here in the US basically ended in 1939 when Germany attacked Britain. Something tells me that Mr. Buffett lived through some pretty lean times. No WIC, no food stamps, no welfare, no unemployment insurance, no social safety net at all. From what I know (which isn't much), the US healthcare system is surpassed only by Singapore - and Singapore has the advantage of being a much smaller, less diverse country. I agree with you, however, that Mr. Buffett should limit his comments on social issues.
