It's so old school it is refreshing, admitting that the short term up and down is a different game than long term success. I saw this interview back in march on this channel, and when he speaks on U.S. progress and the pandemic, the interviewer asks him if he will be sellling his airline stocks, and he explicitly said "We certainly won't be selling any airline stocks". Saying that technical analysis is not important for investors today was crazy. In the days of high technology we can make $50k or more in five minutes with the right technical analysis. What he should've said is he doesn't like it because it's too new age for him. For example, he just lost his ass for betting on rising oil prices whereas a modern day investor holds positions for a very short time frame and use stop losses (limiting losses to 1-5 percent of the investment). It's a different ball game today than it was when he started.

Nevin Kuser I agree... His method helped him accumulate massive holdings in traditional companies early on when they were still fairly cheap... If you look at his net worth, it only really ballooned when he was in his late middle age years... I believe he should try to be a little more adaptable to the times...

How does Berkshire make money? Like I know they buy stocks and hold it long term and generally make absurd amount of money overtime, but if you think about it that way you wont actually have the physical cash until you ultimately sell out of those positions. Some would argue they have dividend stocks which pay out quarterly. But is that enough to pay their employees and current liabilities as on the moment? Sorry its always been a question of mine, and I couldn’t really wrap my head around it. Thank you for the help

Warrens greatest success is his family. Every one of his kids have the same philatropic spirit that he has. None of them turned out spoiled or wasted their resource of a great father. If you read his biography, he started off as a horrible father, but he changed his focus while maintaining his financial success.

I am surprised how much I agree with Buffet. I will never own Tesla stock either. In the end, every electric car still gets its ions from a fossil plant. I also didn't buy Google at $119 when it went public. Still don't own it. He stays out of politics for the most part and cites his kids as a his best success.
