@@Cosmicattt I didn't vibe with everything she has said in the past year. But a lot of the criticism she got was straight up virtue signaling. Her 'question for the culture' post was not nearly as bad as everyone made it sound. She should've never namedropped anyone, but her post was literally about how media treats female artists in the industry and invalides their narratives and experiences, criticism mainly coming from female writers and alternative artists. But the only thing people took from her letter is "oh Lana is namedropping famous WOC and is thereby invalidalidating/disregarding their experience". That was such bullshit. First off, she said time and again that these were her favourite artists and that she has upmost respect for them. Secondly, she literally meant "now that we are celebrating these bold forms of embodiement, can my weak(er) form persist", again not discrediting anyone, just wanting everyone's voice and experience to be heard and respected. I took issues with the wording, not the message. Anyway, now little twitter stans have labeled her as that racist and ignorant person-whatever she does from that point on is always going to be met with backlash and hatred. I hate when people are like "I don't agree with what you are saying, go educate yourself" that's actually very pretentious, you're pretending that your views on a situation are facts and cannot be challenged, criticized or even discussed. I saw something somewhere about Michael Jackson recognizing her unique style of music, her own style, like he had (I can’t remember exactly). Then, I would listen to rock music and hear men sing out of tune all the time and being considered edgy. Lana is a bit problematic with her mesh “mask” and such but she deserves so much better.
@avablu58523 жыл бұрын
she actually confirmed there was a plastic lining under it on her twitter a while ago, and she’s been seen with a mask multipleeeeee times so i don’t think she’s anti mask or whatever lol. still wasn’t a good look tho

@@avablu5852 I know but that’s so stupid and even from the fan pics it didn’t look like there was “plastic” that whole mask was a silly attempt

@@avablu5852 that mask definitely had no plastic under it. Love her music tho

LOL she came out and confirmed it was lined with plastic but who cares, yal would have and still did find something to complain about 😂🤣. I like how people so confidently say “ that mask didn’t have lining” like they work with her personally or literally sowed that mask for her💀. I don’t do either, obviously, but like dude come on there’s a point where it’s obvious that you just want to hate on somebody you are intrigued by don’t completely understand hahah.

Meh it was definitely a trashy performance but I'm happy that she didn't give a fk about that lmao Btw why were people so into that crap about her being lizzy grant? Many artists even male artists have artistic names lmao that was beyond ridiculous.

Her music isn't really my thing but she seems nice. And this industry plant stuff is nonsense. Basically all modern musicians are "industry plants". If you like the music, that's what matters

It wasn't an overeaction and it wasn't because of her gender... I saw it without checking any article and I didn't like at all and that just reinforce mmy thoughts that she was a takentless chick that got rich parents and decided she wanted a music career... Ii kept checking her videos though, since I'm all for "second chances" in music and she would later capture my attention with Shades Of Cool and I totally felt in love with her music after High By the Beach and alot of her unreleased songs

The SNL performance wasn’t as bad as it was made out to be, it was just meh as most SNL performances are.
