For some reason, no matter how much time passes, this song still hits me like there's a giant ivory snake slithering through the room, menacingly. The chords are meant to bring the heaviness, but their structure sound to me like something slithering all around, up and down, left and right, always twirling, while going forwards. Sounds almost as sketchily dangerous as Mother herself when she reveals not to be as selfless as once-thought. Literally like meeting the darkest side of someone you wished to meet in person.

0:15 to 0:30 is the absolute pinnacle this games musical storytelling. I get chills every time I hear it. The first 15 seconds of dramatic strings and piano evokes divine grace and beauty but like Mother herself, it reveals itself like some godlike and furious beast of apocalypse. It’s the theme of a hungry predator disguised as a divine matriarch.

I didnt know that the name of that ivory mammal-like beast was Oedipuss. Ignoring the humorous part of "puss", it tells a lot about Mother herself. And again, it makes the whole existence of Ivory more and more problematic, was it really a mystical force? Did it really treat mother like a . uhm, mother? Assuming that the name Oedipusss wasn't given by humans, it says that Ivory had emotional connection with her. So what was Starworm, and Bird Boss. Ehh, too many question left unanswered, i hope Joakim Sandberg will make a prequel.

Well you see Oedipus was a greek myth of a man left by his parents, and when he grew older and moved to the city he killed a man which turned out to be his father and married his mother unknowingly and ruled over the city there because he killed the sphynx for his brother there, and when he and they found out, his mother committed suicide and Oepidus used the pins in his mothers gown and blinded himself forever

I think the name oedipuss is referring to the fact that this entire religion is based on a love for mother (and father in the past) and a person with an oedipus complex is someone that falls in love with their parental figure.

They died because mina's seeds reacted with her ivory blood in a way that they can't use their healing powers to recover from. It's the same thing that kills agent white and turns agent black into the ivory beast.

She has ivory Blood and Mina's seeds grow exceptionally fast in ivory whenever healing powers are used. Its similar to how agent white died she literally ripped her own guts out. Only reason Black didn't succumb was because she stopped using her healing and went directly for rocket fuel which did its own damage.
