Thank you for the video, iconography and saint veneration has been the hardest thing for me going from Protestant to Orthodoxy. Also if you can expand more on the changes of modern Judaism and classical? That's something I haven't heard much about that before

I mentioned it around the 7min mark, but I'm going to also do a video specifically on this subject alone. Judaism used to be priestly, it had a temple, sacrifices, a liturgical worship, and the Bible was the primary text. Today, Judaism has none of those things and the Talmud is the primary text. David and Solomon did not read from the Talmud, and they lived amongst a Temple run by priests, with incense, imagery, and sacrifice. All the elements the Orthodox and Catholic Churches uphold today, which Judaism does not.

Thanks for your video. I think a distinction needs to be made between the "use" of images and the "veneration" of icons. While we can certainly make a case for the use of images (as John of Damascus wonderfully does) prior to the 8th century, how far back does the veneration of images go? Peace

Hey jeem you seem very knowledgeable sir would you do a series debunking gnostic Christianity and theories on diversity in earliest Christianity. Critical scholarship is now using this to support gnosticism as just as valid and it's hindered me in turning to Orthodox fully sadly even though I do also think it is the most ancient form of Christianity we have available. I'm not contradicting you here....but would it not be fair to say that the Epistles and the writings of "The Fathers" or "the Patriarchs" of the 2nd to 5th centuries are essentially the Christian "Talmud." We need a collection of these in one place now I think to contrast these men to the Hadiths and the Talmud.

Methinks you may be arguing against a Christian (Protestant) view of Judaism, instead of a Jewish view of Judaism concerning icons. Your trip to the JCC shows this. You also mistakenly state that the Talmud is recited seven times a week while the Torah is said only once, this isn't true. Also, the Talmud is a commentary on the Mishnah and not the Torah, though the Torah is quoted and commented on a lot. There is so much misinformation out there, please don't perpetuate more in the name of Orthodoxy.

@@marchelomanchev5317 judaism still uses iconography, not in the way EO does, but it does use it. Have you looked at the temple website? Also, have you been too a synagogue? My point to the poster was that if he intends to prove that Judaism is wrong from on Eastern Orthodox point of view, he should be very careful about what he states about Judaism. So far, I think anyone who is Jewish who watches this with its false information will turn away and think EO doesn't have much to offer.

And Quran has a lot of different names of people, it calls Jesus isa while the Arabic speaking Christian’s call him yasua, it also calls St John yahya while his actual name is yuhanna and that’s how the Arabic Christian’s call him
