I am one of the singers in this video....and I have to tell you, this was one of the most unique and interesting projects I've done in quite a while. Singing through the virtual acoustic was so trippy, and just stunningly beautiful. Thank you very much for the score!! Do you perhaps also have the Cherubic hymn by Manuel Chrysaphes that they performed in another video? kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3yvnH2AaMunf9k ?

Man, they make it sound so easy. That ni-vou-ni-pa cadence is actually really difficult.

Can someone find me the historical evidence women were allowed to chant in the Hagia Sophia?

How much do you think would have to be paid to Erdogan to let us do a Paschal Service in Hagia Sophia?

Re the previous comment: UNfortunately Hagia Sofia is no longer a museum; it is now a mosque.
My understanding is no. Mostly because to be a psalti meant you were tonsured at least a reader, so women were automatically not allowed. But as choirs have evolved in Orthodoxy to include those who are untonsured, women were allowed. But even this only around the late 19th century.
