As someone who build furniture as a hobby, longevity is a concern. As someone with a rudimentary understanding of engineering, I recognize that articulation points are notoriously prone to breakage. I'm curious as to what the life expectancy of some of these load-bearing structures are what with all the point of articulation built into them.
@johnree61062 жыл бұрын
Most probably won't last long especially if children use them. You probably get 5 years at most out of them but then again that is how long most last now.
@duchessofwinward27982 жыл бұрын
None of these are built to last
@valeriapw79082 жыл бұрын
Nowadays, the younger generation does not care about the longevity. They want to get cheap furniture, toss them if they have to move and get new ones. I have nice furniture to give to my kids, none of them want them, as moving them cost more. They will just go to the nearest IK## than to deal with the solid wood, heavy and bulky stuffs.
@keithdtibbettskeith56582 жыл бұрын
@@valeriapw7908 it doesn't cost more to move a heavy piece of furniture across town than it would be to just buy it new. Unless you're talking about using a moving company and going across state lines or even worse across country lines now I don't know about going through countries but here in America if I wanted to move from Massachusetts to Florida with a heavy couch I can't imagine that it would be that much cheaper to just buy a brand new one in Florida
@asakayosapro2 жыл бұрын
Sure, we can't afford these things, but we can now use the ideas presented and make our own versions of them. If the original designs are flimsy, we make better, more durable variations. Better hinges, better bearings, better wheels, better brackets, better wood, better articulation. I've been wanting to build me a privy gaming podbox with soundproofing, a bed on top, dresser on the side, and a multimedia entertainment center at the end, and PLENTY of these ideas are already being considered for use with that build...
@charlieben36722 жыл бұрын
Not all “ bulky stuff is out of style for a while”; furniture of good quality and good wood craftsmanship is still a good investment. That is why there are people who still collect antiques. I am pretty sure if some people can afford to buy their own home, they would get “ those bulky “ furniture.

I am a beginner to woodwork, the main test I have with this bundle kzbin.infoUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt is that I think that its hard to settle on a choice of the plan and outline to use as there are a large portion of them there. Nonetheless, I like the simple stride to step directions laid out there.

@@EdwardGaydosIIIyes! Necessity and desire are inspiration for creativity❣️ I love to find ways of making things with repurposing and diy as much as possible…even when I could afford not to. Uh you just aren't resourceful enough and thinking outside the box. Just DIY. One of them is actually a take on how poor people used to sleep in China if they couldn't afford to buy a bed. A plank laid across 2 wooden stools that have no back is your standard poor person's bed.

great video, really loved the creative ideas! but i can't help but wonder if some of these designs prioritize style over practicality. sometimes, it feels like a compromise on comfort, especially in a small space where you want to feel cozy, not just trendy. what do you guys think?

I really liked the last one, the sofa bed with chaise storage, which I really need, but it wouldn't fit into my budget, I am sure!! And probably also would not fit in my 72" space. It would have been great if you could have put the price of each item in, say, a bottom corner of the screen!!

I also love the ottoman that accompanies it. At timestamp 2:58, that sofa is a masterpiece and also perfect for my loft. At timestamp 5:02, the swivel table is awesome. The soft chairs are wonderful for young people but not for older folks. You would need a frame or something to sit it on so that older people could sit comfortably without falling down. Here in the U.S. the older generation is quite a large population. That's something the manufacturer might want to consider.
!谢谢。

Personally, I love these space idea's that also help with using one piece of furniture in different ways. It's aesthetically pleasing and calming to me. Even when owning my own home i'm still not interested in bulky furniture, it get's so boring to keep looking at the same static pieces over and over that just serve their one purpose and that's it.
