I just bought the MSI Mag 271QPX and I can’t wait to get it. It’s $599.99 on Amazon right now. The difference between the QRX and QPX wasn’t enough for me to justify the QRX. They’re both 360hz and the same panel and they both support firmware updates. Seems like no reason to spend more on the QRX.

I got the 271QRX and my gaming experience has been amazing since. Can't believe I wasted all this time on LCD! I would like a 30" 4K 360Hz as the endgame though.

@@kinged358 Nope not blurry just not as sharp as the 4K DPI I'd been using for a year. Much prefer the 300fps though in COD in 1440p!

You dont need DSC to run at 360hz, you only do so if you plan on running it at 10bit. HDMI 2.1 has enough bandwidth for 1440p 360hz 8bit. Just not 10bit. And 10bit for SDR makes little to no difference and most users cant tell any difference unless you had a professional point out banding. For HDR yeah you need DSC since it auto changes to 10bit when you enable HDR in Win11. (if set to Use Default Color Settings in Nvidia)

On my test on this monitor, disabling DSC will still lock you at a max of 240Hz even with 8-bit SDR so for 360Hz for this monitor; you need DSC ON with HDMI 2.1 as well

@@FIREWOLFTECH I have this monitor, Im not locked to 240hz using the provided HDMI 2.1 cable with DSC disabled running 8bit (nvidia set to Use Default) regardless, DSC shouldnt be in use even if its "enabled" in the OSD since the bandwidth is well within the 48gbps.

That's interesting, what FW version are you on ? I'm just about to put this monitor away, and I double checked the settings and tried 3 different HDMI 2.1 cables including the one in the box, and it still locks me out to just 240Hz. Are you running this monitor natively at 2560 x 1440 ? And also, do you have DSC OFF manually on the monitor itself ? I've looked into forums and no one has confirmed they got HDMI 2.1 running 360Hz @ 1440P without DSC

I agree with you on that, but DSC does use up 2 internal heads (2 ports) so you’re limited to only running 2 DSC monitors or 1 DSC + 2 non DSC displays. Another thing is DSC won’t allow you to DLDSR, something I personally don’t try out myself but I know some might want to be able to do that. For the majority, DSC doesn’t matter (in my opinion)

@riboku_kun5778 it's a great monitor, and I didn't know that I would benefit from the 360hz way more noticeable than i thought. Also, I had to increase the saturation ( personal preference) . But I got one with a dead pixel, returned it, and I will order the same one when it gets cheaper

For the price your paying for this monitor there is no excuse for not having an individual color tint/saturation control. Night Vision also is not the same as gamma it makes the mid tones too bright

No! This monitor is g-sync and free-sync compatible. Your gpu will be just fine. Its built into the monitor and if you don’t want to use those technologies you can just disable it within the monitor settings / nvidia control panel.

Hey! How did you configure the HDR on PS5? Since it has no tone mapping feature, I imagine the HDR picture to be worse than on PC? If its like that it would be a dealbreaker for me since im planning to use this exclusively on PS5...

Is there some way to adjust hdr brightness (not sdr) if you decide to activate it? The brightness option it shown me as gray on the monitor, and in windows I just can adjust sdr brightness. It’s so bright for me

There's a 240Hz version which is cheaper. I haven't personally tested that one so I'm not sure if only the Hz is the difference; but either way, it should be a beautiful OLED display 🔥
