I used to be one of those guys who complained about Fire Emblem characters in Smash. Then, when Chrom was announced for Ultimate, I got to thinking - "maybe there's actually a reason Sakurai has added three characters from THIS SPECIFIC Fire Emblem game." With this in mind, I got myself a copy and played it... ...and WOW, Awakening rocks. I've since played other FE games but to me none of them can match the emotional impact that story had on me. For some reason, Robin's story and character hit me in a super personal way. The idea of feeling guilt for mistakes you didn't make, or perhaps haven't made yet, and therefore questioning your place among good people, are all things Robin mentions as internal struggles. This isn't even close to a primary plot point in the game, but you can tell it really bothers them. Personally, those are feelings I've felt a lot in my life, and I was able to connect with the game through that, I guess. Between that and a gripping plot with high stakes and tons of characters that somehow all feel unique and memorable, I love the game and replay it often! I can't recommend it enough if you've got a 3DS.

2023 right around the corner marks the 10th anniversary of Awakening. You can tell the composers went all-out for this song, especially at 2:35 where the FE motif ushers in. This game, produced under the premise that it was gonna be the final game of the series in 2013, was so well received it kept the series going to this day. Awakening has a special place in my heart 💙

Ah yes, my first Fire Emblem, the one that got me hooked on this wild, whacky ride of ups and downs. Awakening will always have that special place in my heart. Especially this song, this song really was the pinnacle of all the game's energy in one final push.

I wouldn't say it was the pinnacle of just Awakening's energy into one final push. the juxtaposition of the main melody of the track with the Fire Emblem theme was, as a life-long emblemier, the energy of all the FEs into one. this was supposed to be the final game in the franchise and definitely was a call back for us older fans as well :) and if this game had been the final one, this track was absolutely WORTHY of ending the series on a great note. I have such a massive appreciation for this song.

Spoilerwarning regarding Three houses and Awakening: I love this. Fire Emblem is one of my favorite game series ever and the music is phenomenal. It is heroic with peaces like this and cn be incredibly sad with pieces like "Dont speak her name" or the on that plays after Jaralt dies in the three houses. This muic can make you feel sad, even if you have already played it many times, know what to expect, and dont really feel sad about the caracter anymore, but the music still makes you feel sad on its own. And its always well placed is the games. Jeralts music playes in the monestary until the new month begins, which make you grief with the characters for the rest of the month. And "Dont speak her name" being played instead of teh normal fight music right after the cutscene of her death is unexpected and makes you feel like you are Chrom, even though you have to concentrait. Without the music it would be very easy to be distracted, by tactics and the task at hand, but it keeps you in the moment.

Excellently done! Awakening was my first fire emblem game and this was my favorite song. To this day, I still hum it when bored, stressed, etc to help me relax. Also, I don’t typically request as I know too many requests can get annoying, but might I suggest Parade’s Lust or Morning Light Hymnus from Granblue Versus? Both are themes relating to one of the villains and are very catchy for different reasons (as they are different genres).
