I just got my acrylic base and the pcb foam. I'm so excited right now

Best combo ever and I really like that ID80 made this available for purchase instead of keeping it and making us buy the version 2. Will do a sound comparison soon as well ! Thank you for checking out my new video!

@@Rx003 with the acrylic base and foam from idobao- is that enough? should we still add the packaging foam to decrease pinginess? thanks for your help!
@Rx0034 жыл бұрын
@@mugen264 I think that should be enough since the pcb/plate foam should decrease the pinginess when typing, one thing you could do is try the metal back plate and notice the sound then change it to the acrylic 👂 It all goes down to preference, you can still add a lil bit of the thin white foam that I showed when settling down to the acrylic, if you are still not satisfied if ever :)

Hey man. Also have some dim rgb lights. Will look out for reset button on my PCB. But did you mention that you did some cut-outs for the LEDs to shine brighter?
@Rx0034 жыл бұрын
Yes sorry as I cant remember and I dont have the id80 with me, but It should be on the bottom part of the pcb at the back. For the cut out that is just the foam that I placed so that it wouldnt hinder on LED's

When will you upload vid on how to flash it. I need to increase brightness of rgb lights asap. THey wayy to dim stock.
@Rx0034 жыл бұрын
Sadly my video about flashing it got corrupted and my ID80 was borrowed. For the rgb lights what I did was just reset the pcb, on the bottom part of the pcb there should be a button, just press it and you would notice the rgb would be brighter.

@@Rx003 i could not find the button, is it on the back side or on the side that has the switches? Mine is already installed... Also what did you press to put your keyboard in boot mode? I know how to flash just need to know how to get the keyboard ready to be flashed
@Rx0034 жыл бұрын
@@fireboss59 The reset button would be on the back side of the switches bottom part its a rounded button (under A key)

I didnt press any to boot mode, once I pressed the reset button it was ready for flash at least for my pcb some people done it while holding Space+B while plugging the keyboard in

Yooo do u recommend this one if i dont want to wait 5 months for a gmmk pro? Getting boba u4 with it. Acrylic back plus foam they offer. The id80v2 is a lot more expensive than that setup:(
@Rx0033 жыл бұрын
The only thing I dont like about the id80 is the integrated plate it makes the typing experience stiff but some of my friends have the gmmk pro and they said its stiff. I have yet to try the gmmk pro so I cant really compare both for the stiffness. ID80 is still a good starter kit, the acrylic back really helps negate the hollowness. Still a solid board imo. Thank you for the comment and for checking out my channel really helps out with my engagement! Really appreciate this and good luck with your build!
@richburmond67613 жыл бұрын
@@Rx003 But stiff, I'm not sure how to interpret that. I have a ducky one 2 mini with cherry browns atm. So Boba plus ID80 will never feel worse right? And the foam must also help the hollowness? Is it that bad? No problem! Reacting is always good :) But I am not sure what to do, another guy also mentioned the hollowness :(
@Rx0033 жыл бұрын
@@richburmond6761 (1) Stiff meaning there's no flex or bounce when typing. (2) Foam will really help with the hollowness. (3) Yes, it doesnt mean it would feel worse For the hollowness theres really nothing you can do but to add some foam.

I think if you tape off the PCB you can pour in silicone and make a custom silicone sound dampener in the board. Did that for my Tofu after I saw someone do that on youtube and it works amazing. Much better than foaming like that :)

Plastic is more rigid than metal when mental hits someone it vibrates making it ring, since plastic is more rigid it absorbs most of the sound and it doesn't vibrate as much. I believe dat is the science but on the other hand SICK KEYBOARD
