A blown fuse generally isn't the cause of a problem, it's the effect of one.
@scout2nut
@scout2nut 4 жыл бұрын
yes and no, I have been working automotive and heavy equipment for over 25 years, fuses are not precision ammeters, it should blow in the range of say 20 amps, if the circuit regularly sees near that amperage, then factor in temperature change, vibration, and it's a cheap chinese mass produced part, yes it can be just a fuse, Not knowing how many circuits the plane would have, I am surprised he didn't use re-setable circuit breakers mounted to the panel
@Phyde4ux
@Phyde4ux 4 жыл бұрын
scout2nut Hence my use of the word "generally". As it's impossible to tell if a fuse blew because it was faulty, the circuit it was protecting should be checked anyway.

I was there that day and have a suggestion: Next time you guys go there (or anywhere for that matter) please do your briefings on the ground or use a discrete freq. It was a nightmare scenario trying to get position reports in on 122.9 when one of your group decided to do a full briefing on landing at Cabin Creek, completely tying up 122.9. Something like 15 of you coming down Big Creek toward Soldier Bar (one on the wrong side of the valley), and nobody else could state their position for miles around.

Trent, add a pack of dryer clothes softener sheets to your flight bag. The el cheapo ones are good. A wet one will wipe any and all bugs right off and won't harm paint, etc. Leaves your plane smelling Downey fresh! They are great at removing Florida Love bugs off vehicles. I've spent time in ID, and it is truly God's country. That scene of your morning coffee was so refreshing, reminded me of my camping trips of long ago.

Trent - Thank You! .... I was in Mc Call visiting my grand parents when I was 15 years old. (1960) My gosh, that was 60 years ago. Mc Call holds a special place in my heart. Because back then the Trout fishing was absolutely bonkers. ( there was no limits then. We filled the freezer.) Finding Indian Arrowheads while out exploring and communing with nature. My father taught me how to drive my grandfathers 54' GMC pickup with 3 on the column. ( Just like in the movies, I ran over a mail box.) :O) I have always dreamed of returning to Mc Call and the house on Payette Lake................. So many good memories.

Please read the late Galen Haselman's Fly Idaho! "The mere existence of the "Big Creek Four" airstrips is a highly sensitive topic. Please minimize operations, group airplane activities, and Internet postings of group photos and KZbin video. Use the airstrip respectfully and don't abuse our tenuous ability to use it." I have had the great pleasure of flying fishing weeks on the Big Creek - based at Vines. I support the Idaho Aviation Association because they are fighting for our right to continue to use Vines and other USFS airstrips. Sadly, we can't take for granted that the amazing strips you visited in your great video will always be there for us to enjoy.

Was at Copenhaver the weekend after you guys were there. Got a ride on Jeff's big boat. Did a bunch of maintenance of my friends family's cabin. We moved the south wind sock on Sunday, much more useful now. Excellent video.

This video brings back some fond memories. Grew up in McCall and my dad and I used to fly in and out of Acorn Creek and Cabin Creek and spend time hiking and camping along the Salmon River.

Great trip Trent. Wrecked KitFox at mouth of Salmon on trip up Snake R. 2017. Be careful of the air currents. Good you mentioned that. Cheers
