More than 2,400 miles of offiicial scenic byways throughout Idaho allow travelers to follow the Oregon Trail, trace the footsteps of Lewis and Clark, search out scenic wonders, enjoy quiet beauty, and absorb state history. "In Idaho", a drive can be an adventure, a journey to places of beauty, history and inspiration," says producer John Crancer. "It can be a remote trek along a dusty desert pathway or a leisurely spin on pavement bordered by striking mountain vistas." Went to Idaho in 1969 and 1971. Saw hardly any cars at all on the roads. Very beautiful state. I want to go back in the future.

If you want to see the Oregon Trail come to Idaho and visit my hometown of Bliss and take a ride on the Thousand Springs Scenic Byway from Bliss to Twin Falls City. Visit Hagerman and see the Hagerman Horse our state fossil and go under Thousand Springs itself, Visit Buhl home of the state's trout farms, Visit Filer in September home to the biggest rodeo in the state The Magic Valley Fair, and the high lite of the trip Twin Falls City it self the heart of the Magic Valley. Visit the Visitor Center and watch base jumpers jump off the bridge, Visit The Old Homestead where old IB Perrine himself founded the Magic Valley 100 years ago, Visit the Dirt Ramp where Evel Knievel jumped the Snake, and visit Shoshone Falls and Twin Falls which give the city its name. If you are into aviation visit Joslin Field and take a ride on Skywest or you can come here every two years and watch the airshow. You will find all of this and more on the Thousand Springs Scenic Byway.

It's really not...I love it out here. Endless dirt roads to 4x4 on...amazing natural formations like Wilson Butte Cave and the carvings/paintings on the rock walls near Glenns Ferry.. people don't appreciate wilderness like they should.. it's disappearing fast.
