On your point on the "Legalizing" of pot in so many other states but not in ID- I can tell you with great certainty if ID ever "Legalizes" it - it'll be the first giant step towards loosing your great society and culture. I'm from CA and saw it first hand. Don't ever do it ID. Resist. Esto Perpetua.

I totally agree with not legalizing pot or any other drug in Idaho. If that's what people want then move to a state that has no problem with stoned people. This is not a state for you. Period!

Agreed. Legalizing pot was the first step towards destroying Washington. Now all drugs are legal, and crime is rampant.

This place will never be the same as it was. Not only has the population gotten wild, but the tourism never ends anymore. There's always been summer lake/river people, but they used to leave us alone when the snow came..

Colorado was destroyed when they legalized pot. The support was all about the money at the expense of quality of life. Colorado is a crap hole now.

Everything was already ruined and stole by Freemasons in the mid 1800’s. Thinking it was nice after that at all is a fallacy. Egyptian pot was growing everywhere until corporations and the feds stole them in the 1940’s and human health has never looked worse that we know of without that plant growing everywhere that it used to. May I remind you it’s a plant that’s edible and many other uses too. Sellouts! You worship he-brews.

I do love your videos. I was born and raised here in Idaho. I moved back in 2019 after living in CA for 30 years with my wife (also from Idaho) to retire. Idaho has changed but it is still the same in a lot of ways. People are for the most part helpful and friendly. The roads are still the same (crappy, but they were in Central California. as well)Don't ever legalize the pot here, you will regret it.

My off road non county maintained road is by far better than in any county south of Sacramento. CALTRANS vs IDT hands down ITD does a better job and with less $$$. Gas tax is going straight into Gruesomes pocket. CA r suckers. Anyway. Just sayen.

There are already more people driving from south Idaho to Oregon pot dispensaries weekly than live in eastern Oregon. Not if but when...

Regarding cost of living, Trent, a couple things I am getting killed on this Winter is the cost of propane (mostly for heating) and having to hire somebody to plow the snow on our 1/2-mile access road and long driveway. With living temporarily in our shop, we didn’t have the money/space for a wood burning stove at the time. For those buying property in the boonies trying to live their off-grid fantasy, a plowing implement and an alternative heating source is paramount to factor into your initial budget and can be costly to a small budget. Thanks for the video. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Very good points. A lot of folks expect off grid living to be a lot cheaper than buying a home but there are many costs that often get overlooked. Thanks for watching and commenting and merry Christmas!

Idaho is expensive. It's cheaper to live in NYC because rents are about the same and you can survive without a car. We survive with one car for husband and wife, but if we didn't live EXACTLY where we live right by Centennial trail it would be so much harder for me to get to work from anywhere else. Instead, I am able to ride my bike even when it's snowy like this.

I can vouch for the low property taxes and 2A rights in Idaho. I came from Washington this past summer. We have a house that we consider equivalent to what we had in Washington. Property taxes there were over $9000 a year, here we are paying $3200. And many stupid gun laws in Washington designed to disarm law abiding citizens. None of that here and it's easy to get a concealed carry permit here even though you don't need one.

Virtually all of the reasons good folk are moving here you listed were high on our criteria for relocating here to beautiful free Idaho. I grew up in Maine & have missed the fantastic four seasons, mountains, rivers & lakes there, Idaho embodies much of the best features of Maine yet offers far more overall, a perfect fit. Merry Christmas Trent!
