I was just there a couple weeks ago on an archery elk hunt. Thank you for being respectful to the area. It’s one that is very close to my heart. I’ve been there with my granddad multiple times. While we were there we filled up two trash bags full of beer cans/bottles, cigarette butts, soup cans, all sorts of stuff from the different campsites we were at. Safe travels! Maybe we’ll see each other in central idaho sometime 👊🏼

An Elk Bow hunt is the ultimate hunting style if you ask me, and if done respectfully, and with the right intentions, is probably the most earth friendly way to get your food. Thank you so much for watching! We always do our best to leave the places we go better than we found them, and will keep promoting this as the best way to enjoy our public lands. Copper Basin is a special place, we’ll definitely be back (video or no). Thanks for taking care of it!!!!

Having just discovered you guys I am going back to catch up on earlier vids. So nice. Well done. But maybe it is also a bit of a kindred spirit. After decades of pushing hard, living in big cities, flying all over the world (for work) and so on we treasure the way overlanding encourages, if not forces, us to just slow down. I told my wife that after nearly 2 million miles of flying quickly over everything at 35,000' I just wanted to explore what is "down there". Ground level. Not in a hurry. Having time to appreciate everything. To take it in. Soak it in. And after seeing this Copper Basin area it has me interested in getting out that way from where we live in Central Oregon. (But first I'll check out some more of your Idaho vids!)
@Venture2Roam Жыл бұрын
What you are expressing here is spot on..very similar ethos for outdoor adventure that we have. It’s exactly what we haven’t yet got Starlink, or bring too much tech with us. Cheers to slowing it down!!

The trail creek road originally started as a wagon road, where teamsters with 10 or more mules per wagon would travel to and from the mines in the area. It was an art to be able to run a 10 or more mule or horse team. I hope you had a chance to drive into Wild horse Canyon. That is my favorite spot up there. A few hiking trails are available in case you want to make another trip.

What gear ratio and tire size are you running?
@Venture2Roam3 жыл бұрын
We run 35s on 18 inch wheels with 4.88 gears. Full walk around, where I go more in depth on the rig can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3yUe6N_ZpesitU
@moejr143 жыл бұрын
@@Venture2Roam Awesome. Would you say the 488 gears help with packing all that extra weight.
@Venture2Roam3 жыл бұрын
@@moejr14 Absolutely. We run really heavy with an RTT, our gear, and two kids in the back. Our AEV Suspension is great, but drooped a bit, so we added airbags in the back to keep it level (install vid here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f32zfIpmpdF6erc). Our JK was running 3.21 gears with 33s on it. So when we went to 35s, we also put in the 4.88s along with air lockers in front and back. The 4.88 gearing has made a big difference in the Jeep's ability to drive easy in high altitudes, on steep grades, and at low speeds. It's not the best for going 75mph on the highway, but that's not what we use the Jeep for anyway. Hope this helps!!!
@moejr143 жыл бұрын
@@Venture2Roam Awesome that’s exactly what I wanted to know. I have a 23 zero RTT on my jeep With a Smitty built rear tire carrier, front winch bumper and all our gear. We are pretty heavy. I’m currently running 35s with 410 gears and it’s a slug all around so I was trying to decide whether I should go 456 or 488. But you just helped me make my decision thank you
