I love the negative flight altitudes down in the canyon! Please do more of them. How long of a trek is it from the parking area to Inspiration Point? Watching the video it seemed to be quite a distance. You definitely have all the best toys! Cars!....Drones!....Cameras!....When I grow up, I want to be you!

There’s not a whole lot of content for the Mini 3 on KZbin. I believe because DJI decided to Release the mini 3 pro first. I can remember everyone talking about soon the mini 3 would be released and then the mini 3 pro came out. Everyone purchased it. But when the mini 3 was released a lot of people didn’t want to downgrade from the mini 3 pro. So I think DJI really hurt their sells when releasing it last. But I do have both mini 3 and mini 3 pro I actually ordered the mini 3 a couple days after DJI announced it was available. And I really like it it really flies great and the flight time is excellent. And I got the same range with it as i did with the mini 3 pro or mini 2 or air 2 and air 2s even though it only uses ocusync 2 it has 2 antennas so I believe that accounts for the range. A-lot of people couldn’t understand why I would purchase the mini 3 since I already have the mini 3 pro. And I would tell them for me it’s not about upgrading or downgrading its about collecting as many DJI drones as possible. I see people selling their drone to purchase the next model and I won’t ever do that. I will just save up the money and purchase the next model soon I plan on getting the mavic 3 classic or 3 but eventually both and then the 3 pro. Eventually I’ll have all 3. I used to own a phantom 3 standard as my first DJI drone and it’s getting harder to find now. Amazon didn’t even have it available with the RC the last time I looked. I wish I had never sold mine. It’s been over 5 years and I still regret selling it. Having a few extra drones isn’t a bad thing but losing one and not having another is a bad thing. But you gotta love the little mini 3 its a great little drone.

Another great video. Like the intro graphics. I understand your channel is mostly about drone reviews, but have you considered doing a video of Coffeepot Craters and/or Birch Creek Ranch on the Owyhee River? The canyon in the ranch area is impressive, though not as is impressive as at Dedication Point (how could it be?) but it would be something a bit different. Portions of the road can be less than ideal down there but you have a vehicle that could certainly handle it.

Nice flight, again! I noticed the haze in the Canyon, but you didn't mention it. When compared to your other videos of the Canyon, this video appeared hazy, but I'm sure it was the moisture in the air, not a camera issue. Didn't realize the walk to the parking lot was that far!!

Hi Marcus, thank you for the very nice video showing the capability of the DJI Mini 3 and the canyon. There have been a number of review videos comparing the Mini 3 to the Mini 3 Pro. Most reviewers recommend the Mini 3 Pro and discount the potential for the Mini 3. IMO both are excellent drones worthy of purchase consideration. $559 for the Mini 3 can be seen as expensive for a new toy, $759 for the Mini 3 Pro even more so. What ever the new pilots choice, they will own a very capable drone. I delight in that we have that choice.

I´m not quite sure how the MINI 3 STANDARD (nice and fitting name, btw!) fits into the DJI lineup. If you want a reliable drone that can more or less do what the MINI 3 STANDARD does but not spend too much money there is always the MINI 2 or even the MINI SE (as long as both are available). Yes, the camera on the 3 is better, but let´s be honest, what hobby pilot and amateur videographer can really see the difference in videoquality between those drones, especially if you upload the videos to KZbin which puts them through its own compression algorithm (and makes them worse, anyway!) and how many of the normal users do have an expensive 4K monitor in the first place? On a smartphone you can´t see the difference anyway! A 4K/55-inch TV would be needed for that! 😉So why buy a MINI 3 STANDARD if you do not want to spend a lot of money? On the other hand, if you want a sub-250 drone that has many more features than the MINI 2 and the MINI SE and are willing to pay for it, it will be the MINI 3 PRO! You wouldn´t go for the MINI 3 STANDARD in that case. So, you want a quality drone that does everything an amateur needs (and want to spend as little as possible) - go for the MINI 2 or even the SE. You want a drone that has amazing features for a sub-250 (and have the money for it) - go for the MINI 3 PRO. I really do not see a place for the MINI 3 STANDARD in the drone market.

Just out of curiousity, between the Mini 3 and Mini 3 pro, which drone do you like more and why? Thought I would ask considering that you have tried both. Probably won't be buying any new drones for a while myself (still working with the mavic mini and mini 2 drones and don't really need a 3rd drone at this time), but perhaps in a few years from now whenever I have a bigger budget and have my part 107 done. Also, just out of curiousity, between the Air 2s drone and the Mavic 3 drones, which one do you like more (curious how those ones compare)?
