Hi Marcus 👋 My friend. I really like the way you can change the nd filters on The Neo mini drone. Absolutely amazing and a very beautiful place. I'm also was having the same problems when I outside earlier. My drone would be in altitude mode even with GPS at times.strange how that happened. Hope you had a great day and thank you so very much for sharing this wonderful video. God bless you and your family always 🙏. Have a great week My friend Marcus.

Nice informative video as always. I just received the standard day set. Still waiting for my Neo to arrive. I always fly with a ND16 on my Air 2.

Great detailed overview. I watched until the very end. I completely forgot to index the filters in my testing. Nice catch! Also, nice save and kind of crazy what happened with the Neo.

Thank you Eddie! I've learned a lot from your videos!

It's probably a bug fix away from having manual takeoff work smoothly. A tiny piece of Selotape keeps my filter on the gimbal camera. Great autumn tree aerial shots from the DJI Neo.

Thank you! Yes, I need to get the latest update done.

Hi Marcus, nice discussion on filters for the Neo, thanks for sharing. This is the second time you had a flyaway with that Neo? Can you trust it in the future?

Ha! Yes, the Neo surprised me on this one! Thank you Richard.

I think your issue with the odd behavior was satellite locking. On the first incident, even though it showed 25 satellites, it turned red. I don't know exactly what that means, but I'm assuming it had 25 satellites and then a problem occurred. On the manual takeoff, the # of satellites fluctuated and even went down to 11 for a second. I had read the reason DJI doesn't want you to fly the Neo over water is because the water can confuse the downward visual sensors, making it even more reliant on GPS, but the satellite locking in the Neo is not as reliable as it is in other DJI drones. That said, if you Google it, you'll see that there are people having trouble with the Neo and satellite locking, so maybe there's a problem that needs to be fixed.

I must admit, it sure caught me off guard!

@IdahoQuadcopter you made me make note to watch the satellites next time i fly with the controller. So thanks!

I’ve experienced the crazy behavior side take off while doing a Follow mode not with a controller in use. I was lucky I wasn’t near water & was able to find it.

Yes, the neo is not perfect, but it sure is fun! 😄

Kudos for your gallant effort! It's tough enough optimizing filter performance on ground-based cameras, especially with those variable ND's. Lotza frustrating trial and error, which consumes way too much time for my money! Over the years, I've accumulated a shoe box full of filters, but eventually narrowed my ground-based filter choice to B+W Master 010, UV-Haze, MRC Nano filters, primarily to protect my expensive lenses from physical damage. My theory is to allow the camera lens(s) and camera do what they do best, along with proper exposure settings, et-al. Unless I'm trying to turn water movement into a slow-motion milky/blur, capture low-light night skies and/or an aurora borealis, or create star trails, I strictly rely on post processing to apply run of the mill finite filter effects. It's not to say that some folks really master drone lens filter techniques, but it's not my cup of tea. Great demo on your part, especially recovering from that "fly-away"...and locating that tiny filter! 😅🤣😂 Thanks for sharing!!! 🤠

When you had it flying into the sun, was that a ghost reflection of the camera off of the back of the filter?

I live your channel,I am not a fan of magnets.i knew when the drone hit the tree 🎄 that the lense would come off.is that the only way it can be physically attached to the drone?😊

This relates to what i was saying to you about when i linked my Neo up to this controller Marcus. Afraid i do not trust flying using it. Simon

If anyone's searching : "Fly Away" bug appears at 12:05 and "manual take-off" bug at 14:25 - That firmware that increased tracking speeds is full of bugs :-( You were brave to keep on flying !

The NEO does seem to over expose a bit - I think I would drop the EV (exposure value) down to -2 or -3. Some odd motion artifacts caused by the electronic stabilisation. Thank Marcus.

Let's face it Caroline, the camera on the Neo has plenty of room for improvement. 😄
