Iddat In Muslim Law | "Time Has Come For Indian Men To Recognise...": SC On Alimony For Muslim Women

The Supreme Court ruled Section 125 CrPC applies to all women, including divorced Muslim women. Muslim women can seek maintenance from their husbands upon divorce, the court said. A divorced Muslim woman can file a petition for maintenance from her husband, the Supreme Court said. Muslim clerics shared mixed views on the Supreme Court’s big alimony order. One of the clerics said that the court must review its decision, while others said that this would help women.
