Having had it now for awhile, I will keep it, being cost sensitive and all, but I'd recommend a car hauler for the heavier duty ramps and open sides, 18' or 20', still 50/50 there.

Like the look of that Hyd Top Link and J Bar Land Leveler. That’s my next implement

The 3rd SCV and the top link has been an awesome addition to the tractor. And the combo with the J Bar worked great, allowing me to finesse the angle for the forward and rear blade as needed with a simple twist of the wrist. I'd highly recommend this feature for anyone doing bush hogging, tilling or using the land plane. It also makes hooking them up easier as well.

I bought one of those j bar land planes back in the spring of last year. All I can say is the value is amazing. I could have bought 2 j bars for what one of of the name brands cost and the j bar is is good as any of them.

I have a 16’ trailer and can put my 1025r, loader and 4’ brush hog all as one unit on it. Is a longer trailer nice? Maybe but you have to have enough room to store it and truck to handle it. Also check the dot date codes on your tires, then you will know how old they are. I cover mine with covers when not in use to prevent premature sun rot.

Agree John, I was getting away with a 14" initially but needed the extra space. I actually now wish I went with a car hauler 20'. 16' I would guess is the most likely size people use for these and there is usually a reasonable jump in price from a 16' to an 18', which is why I assume lots use a 16', but my 1023, loader and bush hog is about 16.5' long and I don't even have a quick hitch. But that is all on the trailer, none on the tongue. I guess your bush hog may be a little more compact than mine. When I used the 14", I needed to park the loader on the tongue and "curl" the trail wheel on the bush hog, it was tight to say the least. You are right storage is always a consideration as well. Thanks for watching.

Great Video..I have been thinking of getting a trailer. 16' is what I hear is the minimum. If one added the beveled ramp, should that not be counted into the minimum length? Put another way, how much of those last 2 feet are really usable?

So I have a 16' trailer now with a single 6K#axle, as I no longer have my bush hog. Works perfect for my needs. Having the dovetail as part of the total length isn't bad, it worked fine with the 18 and works fine with the 16, I load the tractor backwards as the OM suggests to do, so the loader bucket lays in the dovetail if I have something long on the rear of the tractor, otherwise if I just have the box blade or stump grinder, it still doesn't need the whole length. I like to have the tractor snug up against the front of the trailer, I don't play around with trailer sway. My truck is a 8200GVWR F-150, so it handles hauling and towing better than most 1/2 tons. Still though, an 18 or 20 is probably ideal if you have the space to store it and don't have to deal with parking lots and urban and suburban areas. Thanks for watching.

@@FloridaDeere Thanks for the detailed reply. Very useful info. For the life of me, I could not recall the word "dovetail" and came up with "beveled".. now you know what I do.
@FloridaDeere11 ай бұрын
@@ramchillarege1658 That could be a regional verbage issue maybe. I mean, calling it beveled makes a lot more sense that dovetail. I just use dovetail because that's what everyone around here uses. The funny part is in cabinets, dovetail means something else entirely in terms of a dovetailed drawer. And you are welcome, I do have a tendency to overexplain things at times, but without real conversation I do my best to be understood and try to understand as well.

I have a 7x12 trailer can i haul a 1025 john deere tractor with it.
@FloridaDeere2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, but it will be tight fit and if you have any rear attachments, unless you get super creative, you won't be able to haul them. However, just tractor and loader will fit on a 12 footer. Thanks for watching.

Looking at the way you got your tractor loaded I would definitely say that that's not right you got too much weight on the rear of the trailer the motor weight and the front axle and the bucket is where all the weight is it needs to be turned around the rear tires of the tractor need to be just ahead of the back axle on trailer I found out the hard way
