Good point about the centerstand adding weight to the bike and how it's at a low center of gravity. Also, nice tip on using the zip ties to stretch the springs. I like how you guys alternated the spring hooks to the bracket.

The key here is using the zip ties to pull back both springs. I used the palm of my right hand on the foot (left side) to gain torque. I also found three ties to be enough.

Thank you for the informative video. As a non native english speaker i like the way you talk, very easy to understand. Honda oem parts are expensives. I just instaled HEED crash bars and skid plates. ( brand from Poland, bought from Ebay Heed shop). Fast delivery to France and well packaged. Seem to be good quality. Now i am looking for a central stand.

Awesome video, just installed my OEM gen 2 center stand on my bike, no wobble. Zip tie option worked great, used three ties and channel lock for leverage.

I think we can make a little hole in the stand axle to install a greasing point in order to lube it from time to time with a grease pump.

I think that 20 N*m is too much for the 6 mm socket bolt. According to the center stand installation manual for the NC700X, that is similar, the tightening torque has to be 12 N*m.

So how does yours fit? my bike wobbles from left to right when its on the main stand (OEM one) and my dealer made a warranty claim, is yours stable?

Hello Kevin, it's very stable, I checked it many times after the rides.

@@IdealBike You probably have one of the new ones. I ordered mine in March and received it in April (long before i had the motorcycle) then they were unavailable for a few months while they fixed this issue, but I still have the bad one. I just need to wait for honda to warranty it.

@mmihai87 They were not available so soon as the OEM and the Rally Pack with Quickshifter included was a nice option, considering that I recieved some discount from the dealer. Now I wait for the Hepco-becker upper Crash Bars and returned the OEM crash Bar

It is tragic to order as an accessory ,something that already exists in other bikes..I have a cb500x of 2018 and i have spend more than 1800€ equipping the bike..

Te salut, m-am gândit și eu la Tuareg inițial, însă nu am avut posibilitatea să o testez. Nu mi-aș lua Tuareg nici acum din mai multe motive : piesele vin greu și sunt mult mai greu accesibile worldwide, mai ales dacă îți propui să călătorești prin Asia (cum plănuiesc eu), fiabilitatea mai bună la Honda, flexibilitatea și manevrabilitatea Transalp pe asfalt, puterea, plus preferință personală. Legat de oameni, nici la Aprilia nu m-au dat pe spate, au spus că mă sună să testez și că sunt interesat și nimic. Momentan Transalp mi-a adus multe bucurii pe unde am reușit să merg cu ea.

Nice trick with zip ties. 2.3 kg isn't much👍 but 12.5kg and more with crash bars 🐘you will end up on Africa's Twin's or V-Strom's 800 weight.

That's right. That's why I've gave up to the OEM crash Bar and I've chosen the Hepco-becker upper bars.

I had a 2020 Africa Twin base model. With brash bars and a skid plate the AT is very top heavy. The TransAlp isn't bad at all.
