Bro thought the beauty of this community was the freedom you have to express yourself. Don’t criticize other builds, just build what makes you look back when you get out of your car and smile. This community is getting so toxic that some people build their car for others. Build your car for yourself, dgaf about what others think about it

As a fellow content creator and a guy who has been building cars since 1996, I have two project cars. A 2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT and a 1975 Ford Maverick. Every one of the things you mentioned... yeah... don't get me started. However, your list could have gone on longer. How about KZbin creators telling people to turbo engines for more when the engine may not hold up to a turbo... or the stress a turbo puts on a daily driver and how it may not be right for the build. There is a ton more that we could talk about that is hurting the culture.

At 60yo I may be the oldest person to watch this video. Seems like it was aimed at much younger folks. I'm an original owner of an Evolution IX SE. It looks stock; it's not, nor is heavily altered, mechanically. I've owned the car for the past 17 years and have no plans to sell. The single most reliable car I've had and what a hoot to drive! It's so reliable, because it was never molested with useless mods. It's an easy motor to uncork, though there is a practical limit, and IF you did it right you had a fantastic car. If. My advice to younger people who are interested in driving, not decorating, is to buy a car that will respond to your input in a predictable manner. If you need a mod here or there to make yourself faster or allow for more confidence, do it as the need arises. Using my IX as an example, it's on the optional factory Bilstein suspension, not lowered (suspension geometry matters if you actually drive the thing) and we added a set of Whiteline's mild F/R anti-sway bars after a couple of years. The only suspension mod and it worked out great. Please don't miss my point: buy a car you want to drive and then learn how. I've been driving for 44 years and still learning. If you want to decorate, please feel free to ignore everything I'd said. Good luck.

I had a very modified 1G Eclipse Turbo “missile” as a daily driver when I was young…er. Had to start in second gear to avoid way too rapid acceleration in traffic - or at the drive through. The clutch friction point was minuscule. Suspension could hang on to turns like frickin’ glue, but you felt every Midwest asphalt bump like it was a ditch. It’s much easier to get a fast car designed to be used on a road instead of modifying an “ok” for track and tooling about to work and the grocery. Great video!

In Sweden, A Volvo 740 and 940 can cost more than a 3rd gen V70 (aka "Fas 2"). The cheapest V70 you can get is probably the 2nd gen V70 (V70N, aka "Nicklas"). At least if you want one in good condition. It also depends on what year model it is. A base model 2013-2016 V70II can set you back a good 150 000 to 200 000SEK (equivalent to roughly 12-16k USD). If you want a more powerful engine or a more luxurious interior, you might have to pay about 10k more. A V70N, in good condition can cost between 15 000 and 150 000SEK, depending on if it's an 01-04 or an 05-07. 05-07 is the facelift version and they tend to go for a higher price. They come with painted plastic lists on the corners and on the doors, as well as clear glass headlights. Sun roof? Turbo? If so, which engine is it? Summum or Momentum package? Leather, half leather or plush seats? Electric or manual adjustment seats? Black or baige interior? Has it been recently inspected and is it taxed? Has it ever been in an accident? I bought a newly inspected, silver, black leather interior, 2001 V70 2.4T (200hp) imported from the US. Set me back 20 000SEK (about 1800USD, or so)

To look even better we Try to get the front more down and lay a sack of cement up on each dome over night. No servo stering, no aircondition, no electric windows, no sunroof, no more weight! Mine was simply white and has the rear of an Ford Escort RS. Looking backwards it was the car that makes me the most fun of all!!! And i had different really good cars afterwards. BMW 323i HARTGE, GOLF 16V Custom 200HP, MB 2,3-16 190E, AUDI V8, VOLVO T5R, PORSCHE 911 Carrera 3,2 G-Modell. All i wanna say is, if you are in love with a car, and it is your car, than nobody else needs to say "what a car!" !!! You love it. Now iam looking for a TOYOTA Celica 2,0-16 GT. A dream of my youth... Cheers from Germany go on!

While paint lasts longer than a wrap, you can modify a wrap pretty much however you want for whatever livery you want, whether it's just a color change wrap to a full-blown art sheet on the side of your car. Custom paint, on the other hand, is harder to replicate if the body work gets damaged. It depends on what you're trying to get on your car. Stance doesn't necessarily screw up your suspension, if you do it right, you set up the suspension FOR the stance. Excluding people because they don't have a slammed car is uncool, but at the same time, excluding people because they have a slammed car is also uncool. Not everyone is trying to look fast or go fast, some guys just like to cruise. Low and slow. Not every car has to be a speed mod. Wide body kits can maybe help with some performance things, but once again, if that's what they want to run, let 'em run a wide body. Dude's out here acting like EVERYONE has one, nah. Where do you live that you are constantly seeing wide body cars in your rearview? Tired of seeing only "X" bodykit? Sorry, this isn't 2003 where there was boat load of companies that made a body kit for just about any marketed car at the time. Hyped up prices are a bummer, but a big reason is that people see what other people have done with those cars, and want to do it, too. *cough* takumi tax *cough* Another reason why you can't find older cheap cars in general in the U.S.? It hit me a while back. Cash for clunkers. Remember that? Crushed a lot of the old cheap car candidates. Missile cars are literally just track beaters. They're not always super track-spec modified. They don't have to be stripped out, but most tracks have a safety rule that involves a stripped interior. They also mostly STAY AT THE TRACK! They're usually not street-legal, anyways. People who drive their "missile" aren't driving a missile, they're driving a daily that they've slammed into a wall. Do youtubers ruin the car community? Some can, and some do. There are youtubers out there who provide content that scratches the car itch. The plastidip one you pretty much nailed on the head: get help, get a professional, or at least do your research before engaging. What's really ruining the car scene for me is the guys who think takeovers are cool, or the ones who think that they have to prove how fast their car is by doing a burnout when leaving a meet, and then they ask why the meet got shut down.
@edim108
@edim108 2 жыл бұрын
Wraps are cool and people are still doing amazing paint jobs. The reason why wraps are everywhere is bc it's a lot cheaper and easier to get a crazy wrap than a paint job. Properly done stance looks great and is still practical- air suspension is a thing my guy. My car isn't slammed to the ground bc it's not really my style and without air I would not be able to park my car, and I'd rather spend that money on a nice set of coilovers... Wide body kit has a practical function, especially in certain countries, bc it allows you to put in much wider wheels without them poking outside of the car's outline, which can cost you your car's registration papers (you cannot drive the thing on the public roads), tech inspection (if anything happens don't count on insurance) and a healthy ticket where I live. Wider wheels means more traction and more traction means better performance which is also more safety- wider tires shorten braking distance and handle better on wet/icy road. What's really ruining car culture is Clout Chasers. People who don't care about cars and are here just for attention and social media validation. Doesn't matter to me if you drift, if you stance, if you go to a track, if you go through mud up to your waist or if you drive a 70 year old Hudson Hornet. If you truly care about cars, about this community, you have my respect, no matter what branch of car culture you align with the most. I'm an Off Road guy with an S10 Blazer that looks like something out of the Junkyard Digs with mud stains on the roof, my friend drifts a 2JZ swapped E36 and another drives a 50 year old Fiat he restored. Our car interests couldn't be further apart, but we're friends and we respect each other for the dedication it took to get where we're today with our chosen rigs. It doesn't matter what you drive. All that matters is what it means to you and what you did to get where you're today. I have infinitely more respect for a teenager pulling up in a Honda Civic with a fart can that he worked his ass of to buy and works on it daily, than a rich asshole who got a Lambo from his daddy and thinks he's hot shit...

The number 1 thing ruining car culture imo is that cars that were attainable years ago are not anymore. Everyone and their brother thinks their car is worth way more than it actually is. When I was a teen, you could pick up a fox body or Z28 in great shape for 5-10k. Today we’re talking 15-20k minimum unless you get really lucky. Otherwise they are ratted out with 120k miles on it, door dings galore and shit zip tied to it. Just needs a bumper and a coil pack you say? Sure thing buddy who do I write the check too?

You're such a hypocrite, honestly, You start with how wraps are "ruining" car culture yet you have a wrapped Porche, I don't see how wrapping a car ruins the culture when it can be part of the culture and good for people who can't afford paint. It's easy to find shops that wrap well and it's not too expensive. Painting is nice and all, but so is wrapping a car; wraps if done right can actually protect the paint from being scratched, isn't as much money, and sure they might be a pain to remove or if it tears in one spot you might have to remove the whole thing, but that's what happens when you pay less. Wrapping isn't ruining the car culture, infact if anything it's improving the culture by allowing more creativity and cheaper way(s) to improve the look of your car while expressing yourself. Stancing cars isn't ruining the culture either, like you mentioned you'd prefer a lifted Porche over a stanced one while others may have a swapped opinion. Yes, stancing has become popular in the recent years, but it is in no way ruining the culture and community. Not everyone would want a lifted Porche, not everyone wants a stanced Porche, that's how it is. A lot of the time stancing is done to improve the driving, for example cambering the front tires on a drift vehicle/missile helps improve grip, as when turning the wheels dependent on the angle the wheel will gain positive camber, therefore adding negative camber to a certain degree helps improve grip and all around drivability. Widebodying a vehicle isn't ruining the community or the culture, just like stancing, these can all be counted as sub-cultures as widebodies may be used for multiple reasons, whether it be for looks or to help with aerodynamics. None of these ruin the culture in the slightest. Just like widebodies, stancing, wrapping, and more, these add to the community creating jobs for enthusiasts and allow you to further express yourself with your car and be creative. Sure there aren't too many big widebody manufacturers, but there are plenty that make fully custom widebody kits. They're just more expensive so you don't see them as much. As for hyped up prices, you're honestly making yourself look absolutely stupid here, it's called supply and demand. Sure the cars are older but that doesn't mean the price is going to be lowered due to the age. Like the example you gave of the Supra. For reasons such as The Fast and Furious movie(s) this vehicle has had a lot more demand. Unfortunately they do not make the Mk. 4 Supra anymore as they've moved on to the Mk. 5 which means there's less supply. What happens when there's less supply and more demand? Prices go through the roof. That's basic knowledge even an 8 yr old would have. As for the prices being all over the place, again, that's how it works. A vehicle may drive like a $10,000 car but cost $50,000 for supply and demand reasoning. A vehicle may drive like a $50,000 car but cost $10,000 because there's more supple and less demand. As for missles, you don't exactly explain how these are "ruining" the culture so I'm not going to talk about it too much. Yes, you did mention how some people take them on the streets when they're meant for tracks, but that could be for reasons you don't even know. They could be transporting the car, bringing it to a meet, just trying to drive it around, show it off, have some fun, whatever the case may be. I don't understand how these in any means would ruin the culture ame with the rest. The title for this next one is "KZbinrs" but you mention almost nothing about them. This just makes you more hypocritical as you are a car youtuber yourself. Though you do mention that you see so many Lambo's but nothing else. This is just peoples taste and if you can't tell, Lamborghinis are a popular Supercar across the world. You mention that you want to see more Supercar variety then start to complain about McLarens which aren't even Supercars. Yes they're super popular across the car side of youtube and the youtube platform in general, but again, this is peoples taste. It's so stupid to the point I'd call you a toddler as you mention that you can pick up a Murcielago for the price of a Huracan. You are mistaken. A 2021 Huracan EVO goes for around 208,000 whereas a Murcielago SV runs for 354,000. Those don't look close to me... I'm not even going to start on talking about how you compared a Huracan to an R8. McLarens are classified as Hypercars btw. You mention how the 650s looks Identical to the 570s, but say the 650s looks better. Want to run that by me again? At this point just change the name of the video to "8 Trends I personally don't care for" the way you word this whole video you do nothing but go on about how certain things are hurting your feelings. I mean come on. All of these are preferences people have with their own cars. They aren't ruining the culture but making it even more diverse. Who hurt you? Sure plastidipping isn't always the best option, but instead of hating on plastidip how about you make a video explaining why plastidip can be harmful for your wallet and your car at certain times. Actually educate people if you want to run a channel about cars and the community, don't hate on peoples preferences. Sure, showing off can be dangerous (especially stang drivers, we see you with those tally marks on your window) but it isn't ruining the culture. It may be annoying when that happens and you're either the driver or you and or your car get hit. But at the end of the day it's all about having fun and sometimes that means spinning out and hitting a tree. Lesson learned. Besides, we all know there would be no such thing as those popular "HILARIOUS Car FAILS!!!" videos without our beloved Mustang drivers.

@@rohdger3390 not really no. it's only prohibited when it significantly decreases safety for yourself and/or others, emissions worsen, sound is unreasonably loud or the parts are not allowed on the streets in the first place. many mods can just be slapped on no problem but performance enhancing mods and anything of great significance have to be noted and checked if it raises risk of accidents or lowers safety in case of an accident. there are guidelines to what mods need to be noted in the papers, are prohibited or are free to be installed and also what mods that don't have to be reported alone but when in combination with other mods could cause them to have to be reported and checked. it's strict, yes, and not very clear what is allowed and what not but all in all I'd say it's for the better. body kits for instance might be legal or might be illegal. depends on what does the "TÜV" says. does it compromise safety? has the body kit been specifically made for this car in germany and has already been regulated? are there already cars around that have been given a "yes" with this kit? you have to do a bit more work and check what you can do to your car if you wanna stay legal and not have to pay up but it doesn't mean you can't have some fun. i saw an extremely stanced beetle with a VERY obnoxious body kit the other. perfectly legal.

Exactly! I have never been turned away from a car meet simply because I choose to keep my 88 Chevy IROC Z bone stock. Hell I even have the original GM Delco cassette deck in it.. There is NOTHING wrong with what a person expresses in their car. The only wrong is when a hipster tells us it's wrong solely because HE doesn't like it.

I do think stancing your car has become over excessive. There are people who stance their car as much as they can then lower it so it scrapes on the littlest rock but they don't do it for track reasons and just to drive around town under 80 mph every week damaging the car. Wide body is fine as long as it's not completely stupid. My brother is a car guy that sucks at being a car guy. He has an infiniti G35 and lowered to the point he's taken off all his plating. He drives it around stupidily tearing the car up. It can't run on track and he can't even put it in a car show because he can't take care of it enough and make it look good.

As to point 1... a good paint job costs in excess of $14,000... thats probably more than most your viewers spent on their car. Then you go drive down the road and someone kicks gravel all over your front end and now you have another 3k in paint to repair.

Do you wanna know what is ruining car culture… videos like these. Everyone has their own style and preference. Everyone has an idea and a vision of how they want their car to look, drive, sound like. It is KZbinrs like you that think they are the ones that can dictate what your car is and how you want it to be. If your opinion is making me feel like I have done something wrong you have no place in the community. If you don’t like something keep it to yourself or at least don’t use your influence to set trends and make people hate on each other in the community. It is a community because we have something in common… love for cars, no to rant on each other about the choices we made. Love all cars. Everyone has a taste. Don’t be toxic to others!
