I had started 10 yrs endowment insurance plan in my 20's for an amount of 3 lakhs which is going to be matured next year. When I look back I feel that should have done it for a larger amount and a bit longer period. Now if I start another endowment plan, the premium will be high due to my age. So I would suggest everyone to start in your early age, as your age matures, the premium will not be the same.

If you start early, the premium amount price will be cheaper for a larger amount of insurance coverage. This premium will be locked for the entire duration of the coverage. ... I have made a little mistake while planning my insurance - In my 20's I took the insurance with maturity period of 10 years; thus the premium got locked at a very less price (total premium payable during the entire period was was very less than the insured amount I was given by LIC). Since it was maturing soon,...In my early 30's I have taken another policy for 20 years and the premium got locked for higher amount compared to the first. Here the total premium payable during the entire period is slightly more than the insured amount coverage that is given. I should have taken The first insurance itself for 20+ yrs as the premium would be locked once and for all... Anyways I am still happy with both the plans as I will be getting decent maturity amount on both of them
