My friends Ian and kilian ( pronounced sort of like kill Ian, we made a whole joke about it, it was hilarious back then), are identical twins, and I knew them from the end of middle school, all the way through highschool, and we still talk in passing now. Anyway, this was something we actually asked them. Not quite to the same tune. It was more like: “do y’all ever get confused for the other and just run with it?” Ian began telling a story about how he just went and ran with it one day, that he’d go along with it if someone confused him for his brother. Ian ended up pretending to be his brother through harmless stuff like interacting with friends here and there. Things only got weird when another friend of theirs, a guy walked over and held Ian’s hand, in his words: “basically bolted over.” But Ian went along with it because pretending to be gay was all the rage for some reason. It was like a game of chicken. As well as childish things like the penis game, where you yell it, which was basically another game of chicken. Well, Ian went along with it, thinking this was one of those times, and he was going strong until he was kissed on the cheek when they split off to go to their classes. He immediately cracked, told the guy he was Ian, and they were both horrified apparently. That was the day we had all found out kilian was gay.

I had a couple awkward moments because people didn't realize I'm a twin. The funniest was when we were both working (different shifts) in the university tech center and I was dropping off equipment in a classroom and encountered a random boy who smiled and waved. I nodded politely and left the equipment. He had several classes with my sister (they were both education majors, I was not) and wanted to date her. He came to her in class and was very hurt that she didn't greet him when he’d seen her that morning. My sister immediately caught on and said that he’d seen her twin sister. He didn't believe her. When I next dropped off equipment in that room, he still didn’t believe that I was not my sister. We had to arrange for him to see both us together for him to believe it. Needless to say, my sister never went on a date with him.

Just an idea. The horror scene with reddit is actually getting pretty big, and my girlfriend and I LOVE horror stories. Maybe you could make a new channel all about horror stories. I can't think of a name as I'm not smart enough to think of a "sparked" name with a horror theme but you could probably figure it out.

In high school I moved in with my boyfriends family and he had identical twin brothers, took a few days but I could tell who was who. Subtle mannerisms was my indicator. They told me they only pretended to be the other once and got in trouble so bad as kids they gave up on the idea. Outside of the family was fair game!😂

Story 9 is a similar situation to me and my late mom. I've been told I look so much like her, to the point where the owner of a local convenience store sometimes calls me "Little [Mom's nickname]". Whenever I see myself smile in the mirror, I can see her smiling back at me. Her genes are also very present in my brother, to the point where he and I could easily pass ourselves off as twins, even though he (17) is two years younger than me (19).

Ok I have a couple situations like this, in university my identical twin sister and I went to different schools that were close to each other and I didn't really vibe with my school and classmates so I would go to her school after class and hang out with her friends. Some of them knew I was her twin but some of her knew friends she recently met didn't know and would come and talk to me like they knew me but I didn't know them and when I said so they would get confused and say things like "what do you mean? We sit next to each other in calculus?" And I had to explain to several people that way that I am her twin. Also there was another time I went to her school and she stayed home bcuz she was sick but one of her teachers saw me and confronted me about why I didn't go to their class that day. This happened when I was buying food on campus and the food service worker vouched for me saying she has seen the both of us together before lol

Not an actual twin, but I share a birthday (not year) with a, my ex girlfriends’ mom, b, my uncle, and c, a dear beloved friend. The first time my ex called her mom to wish her a happy birthday, the mom was sooooooo offended that she only remembered because it was my birthday too. Additionally, the dear beloved friend and I were close, and had a lot of eerie similarities despite having grown up on opposite sides of the continent. Jokingly, we started calling each other Twin, Twang, Twon, and every derivative there in. So after years of being online friends, we’d started up the tradition of spending our birthday together, after all it was just a short train ride down the coast once they moved out to my time zone with their now wife. On one of these trips, the ex girlfriend and I were sitting in the cafe car, which was a bit packed due to the nature of the stop we were gunning for, when a man asked if he could share the table we were at. Ex and I, sitting on the same side and having a whole empty seat across from us, said sure and being the social butterfly I am, I struck up a conversation with him. Obvious question to ask a stranger on a train: where are you going? Second I said I was on a trip to see Twin for our birthday, he *lights up*. Turns out, he was a twin too! And was so excited to see another one out in the wild! I did not have the heart to break it to him that I was a fraud and I was just using a nickname on instinct. Sorry, my guy, I am but a clown in man’s shoes and the shame haunts me to this day.
