The program “Repurposing industrial heritage with focus on innovation and sustainability” is organized to promote opportunities to develop industrial transformation projects in Vietnam in the context of Hanoi approving the decision of relocating 09 industrial facilities with high cultural and technological values out of its centre.
With the participation of experts from Europe and Vietnam, the program is expected to enhance the recognition of industrial heritages as valuable resources contributing to regional cultural identity, and creating the opportunity to practice creative innovations in industrial conservation, design and planning in Vietnam.
Prof. Achim Pfeiffer (*1969) studied architecture at the RWTH in Aachen. He has been the managing partner of Böll Architekten GmbH since 2021. He has accomplished numerous project management in the field of monument protection and municipal construction, e.g. UNESCO world heritage site Zeche Zollverein, Museum Rüsselsheim, pump house Bochum, central bus station Bochum, velvet weaving mill Krefeld, cultural center Bottrop, market hall Herford. From 2019-2022 he also teaches building construction and building in existing contexts at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences (Germany).
