Just wanted to leave a comment to say your channel is criminally underrated, I've been binging a bunch of your videos for the past 40 minutes and you touch on so many points that I've raised at my own table that it's unreal, really looking forward to future videos from you!

I have to leave a comment to feed the algorithm. Great work I'm glad you are still making videos.

These are great ideas, especially for a DM like me who likes to put story first and make things as thematic as possible. I'm planning a step beyond this where, rather than just looting old magic weapons with a history behind them of a hidden past when things were a lot cooler, my party is going to have to forge these weapons themselves to channel the aid of supernatural beings in able to bring their powers to the BBEG fight, thus allowing them to become the legendary first wielders and heroes of stories weapons within my own world. Any suggestions on mechanics for how I could best implement this concept?

What if you borrowed the “growing weapons” mechanic from Fable 3 where the weapons start generic but grow more powerful and aesthetic as they make choices (good or bad) or do certain planned out achievements (like slay a dragon with one)?

@@BenDeHart Interesting. I'm not familiar with this Fable 3 system but I like the general idea. I take it this is one of those alternate D&D-like games like Pathfinder? I haven't looked into those much but I do like bringing in ideas from other games to make my own unique. Is there a book that lays out the rules I can get my hands on?

@@BenDeHart ok! Thank you so much for the clarification and taking the time to respond to me. It sounds Vaguely Familiar now that you mention it, I'm going to have to look into that game.
