They are some of the earliest flowers that my native bees visit in the spring. I no longer pull them out. They die back by April or May here in coastal Virginia

This was very well done. The tiny hairs is one of the features that differentiates it from dead nettle.

Yes it is. Flowers, Leaves and stem are all edible and very tasty.

yes, and it is very tasty! To me it tastes of raw Kale. It is not bitter at all. The mature flowers give a sweetness. I like it raw or mixed in a salad. Although it is in the mint family, it does not have a "mint" flavor. HTH
