fantastic video, I really like the idea of universal technology revolving around mobile phones, we now jsut need to make sure they all speak to each other as instructed.

It would be automatic process, for example, when you first use a app on facebook or a andorid app, it first shows what it wants to access then you can either approve or deny. This allows you to have control over what data you show.

One handy thing about having the name on the card is that you can use the card to help get your 100 points of ID when you open a bank account.

Imagine all the administrative bullshit you'd have to go through if you ever lost your phone.

I understand the concept that the device is only allows other devices to see the relevant information, however banks only allow the accounts of their customers to be viewed by that customer but this hasnt stopped people from hacking these accounts. The technology is already here to allow one to walk by your pgone and just pick up the information. This is a great idea in concept but I would have to be convinced of how it is going to keep our data safe.

The presenter/author just came across the waves (BBC), so looked up more info. One proven implementation that overcomes all problems proposed lies in P2P crypto (technologies that Bitcoin is based on). We have the technology now. I worked on an Identity Management start up from 2006 - 2008 (failed) hence the interest. At ***** , I stumbled across FreeIPA . The ultimate solution lies in blockchain technology.

I like your idea, but please stop spreading the rumor that Chip & Pin is infallible. No such system exists and the terms of use should be changed: /watch?v=szgwaYajKHA
