As a rescue main, I absolutely HATE doing basement rescues when it’s Bon Bon even as merc. I mean most of my cases the Bon Bon justs SPAMS the bombs :( But overall it’s fun doing basement rescues. I rlly find joy in rescuing basement or not basement.

Bro im almost tier 7 and sometimes my teamates still expect a bodyblock when i rescue them with tide from basement. They get mad at me when i stay back there and dont go up the stair with them. Seriously when you get rescued under basement, just run straight out like there is no tomorrow

Teach you guys how we china server players do it in a coordinated team. Rescuer stays behind in the basement as the one in the chair just gets hit and get away as far as possible from the basement. Hunter won’t come down to hit you as they might potentially lose the tunneled survivor. Dont need to burn more elbow pads than you already have. Also if no tide, fuck off and decode

I learnt the second tip the hard way after several months of playing I thought I could jump down and avoid Joseph’s hit, it was in the hospital and he was by the doorway the cipher sometimes is at It did not work, I should’ve just went around the hospital and try to elbow dash down, that could’ve worked unless he got a lucky hit at drop-down but it would at least better than what happened Thanks for the guide! Even after a while playing I realised there’s a lot I don’t think about still, so this video really helped

You still can kite using tide while you can't rescue while using broken so I don't see the disadvantage :D

Kinda another tip, I play as dancer with no tide but if I know where the basement is and I'm near the downed person I get in the basement with the hunter (without getting hit and only if full health) and put down two slow music box so that it works like a normal rescue and I dont give free hits on the stairs, if I manage to do a good rescue with no hit I bodyblock, but if I do get hit I mostly hope the music boxes do their work

Yesterday in my rank match i meet an pro player who used lawyer, our enchantress was in the basement. I was playing dancer, and the other one was using doc. Hunter was camping at the top of the stairs, he was using blink. This dude went as lawyer to rescue, dont received any hit out of these, saved enchantress, from chair, dodged another atack, and bodyblocked at stairs, i couldnt belive what happened

I have a question So I main Embalmer, and seeing that he’s not preferably one who should be rescuing at any time especially basements, I have a strategy when I don’t have enough time to put in the person identity, I use the coffin for myself and go try to save them, I twirl/walk around for the Hunter to waste their attack and start getting the person unchaired, but even if I do get terror shocked I can rebirth myself and try again, but there is the risk of being chaired since I rebirth at half health, I just wanted to know if this is a good strat that I should work on or a bad strat to try to avoid?

uh this comment is a bit old but i will try and answer it, Embalmer sometimes takes tide turner urself and it will activate after u rebirth, and hunter will also see ur coffin placement so u might as well give up after rebirthing, also, its not a good idea to “try” a basement rescue, pretty much any hunter, even photographer and Mary will get a hit on u AND ur teammate just because basement is so cruel for survs. coffin doesnt give u any benefit trying to rescue, its likely u just give the hunter ur location after u respawn and presence when he knocks u down... this move only works when ciphers are primed and u can just rescue. hunter will want anyone on the chair so ur the only surv that has a second chance, not that it matters much but thats how embalmer works. Hopefully that answers ur questions!

It doesnt really work very well anymore. When I play hunter its so easy to look away. The circle surrounding the painting makes it so obvious for the hunter to know where to look away and when you placed a painting without ever having to look in you direction, theyll just stare at the chair. And PLEASE dont try rescuing someone at half health

as coord, I always try and juke them to fall down, and then after I've rescued them i use flare gun to shoot them. However I don't really bring tide because for some reason hunters are always onto me first in games- so I bring BW to kite! If I've used flare gun, I'll risk a wand-save by crouching near the top and using the wand and immediately jumping down- then trying to bodyblock the rest of the way up/heal in the basement.

So I’ve seen this tactic in the chinese server with perfumer and tide turner, where she got hit, placed perfume then rescued, then got hit then used the perfume then waited for cooldown then placed perfume then got hit then as tide turner ended she placed the third perfume and used it just as tide ended. I dunno, it’s really complicated and easy to forget the timing and order and this order is probably incorrect but if done correctly it can be quite effective.

basement rescues make me cry bro especially when ppl with characters that aren’t suitable for it help. i was playing lg and I was alrdy have health and so was another player. So we focused on decoding while bar maid was in the basement, and some reason our composer at full health decided to go for it (it was a naiad btw might I add) and he didn’t even have tide 😭 dude doesn’t even make it to the basement and is dead and gets chaired

You will see that the hit animation will play but when the hunter hits the ground it stops removing the hit animation plays the ground stun animation then the hunter can attack again

If you for some reason dont have any of the survivors with the green check mark at 4:07 that should have tide, then yes you can have tide with acro. But just be careful on basement rescues since he's technically not a character that can effectively enter basements, especially if you get seen from far (you wont always be able to not get seen from far, sometimes youll get unlucky)

Characters made by the devs like bon bon who rely on camping as their strongest ability/strategy have characters like mercenary our gravekeeper who can tank a hit for the rescue. In the end camping is an implemented strat for the game by the developers. If a Hunter gets to use the basement you better believe they're going to camp it. Survivors and hunters alike have to measure their choices and see if the rescue/camp is really beneficial. In the end camp heavy hunters get ties if survivors don't rescue. In either case all hunters patrol camp which means going a bit out to pressure a machine. They all have to guard the chair or pressure an early rescue.

Second chair basement: just don’t rescue unless cypher is being primed, it’s not worth it because the person on chair will get downed again, for me rescuing from basement is just telling them to die away from basement for next chair

she can, but she's better as kiter. and since she doesn't have decoding debuff she can focus decoding while the main rescuer go rescue, you can use her as 2nd rescuer and bring 36 tho if u like rescuing but imo she's still better as kiter
