The Israeli army chief told troops on Wednesday that the military is preparing for a possible ground operation in Lebanon.
Addressing troops on the northern border, the IDF's Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said the latest strikes were designed to "prepare the ground for your possible entry and to continue degrading Hezbollah".

IDF be careful on your operation when there are civilians BECAUSE there is a great possibility that these civilians might no be true civilians BUT non-combatant terrorist whose role shall be human shields... Questions would raise our eyebrows, why are they still around when they are advised to keep away from harms way??? These are main reasons for their stay: 1. Combatant civilians who pretended to be civilians; 2. Non-combatant terrorists such as parents, wives, children and families of combatant terrorists who are still within the area; 3. True civilians who supports terrorists; 4. True civilians who are threatened and forced to stay and become unwilling human shields; 5. True civilians who do not jave the resources to evacuate...

The Gaza campaign had actually reached most of it's intended goals. Hamas can't launch missiles, Hamas' military is dismantled and can't do anything resembling October 7th, most of it's leadership is eliminated and Israel's southwest is the safest it had been since 2005. The only failure is the hostages issue. Despite all that Hezbollah and Lebanon didn't take notice, spurred by Iran to continue the war for the sake of Iran's supreme leader. Gaza city stood from the time of the Pharaohs till 2024 and the fate of Beirut can be the same but the real decision making is done at Tehran and they don't care...
