it really pisses me off when people say idina can't sing because of one mistake in a live performance, they obviously have not gone ontk youtube to see how bloody amazing she is! This woman is a true legend with an amazing talent and its horrible to read such disgusting comments about her because of some performances that arent perfect
@Luu-luu5 жыл бұрын
Plus she was totally sabotaged on that performance. Aside from the name thing, the orchestra was playing at a different tempo. It was way faster than the original and that also took Idina for surprise. Apparently, they needed to rush because they were behind or something and it's live TV.

It is a show that has influenced me greatly in my personal life, and encouraged me to push through some very difficult things. Idina has always had a way with her music, but this show was the very best, the most I could ever hope for. The deep, emotional connection felt through the music, it has a magical power about it. I wish the show had done better, because more people deserve the possibility to experience this tale of love, loss, and possibilities.

In a brand new story Am I always Back at one After all I've done? ‘Cause I've burned all of my bridges And learned every last lesson too So how can I start new? I’ll love our children, both fiercely and well When they ask about you, oh lordy, the stories I’ll tell And I won't regret the lives I didn't lead I knew you, I loved you, and let that be all that I need Say that it’s fate Say it’s foretold I'm through with fighting it I'm much too old What the gods have to give I’ll take, and I’ll live, and be bold If we’re always Starting over Every brand-new morning Then we’re always Starting out With the end in doubt We can leave life for tomorrow Or grieve all that we thought we’d do Or make each moment new All that has happened is happening now All that might happen is here, somehow All of the choices that made me, me All of the accidents yet to be All that's ahead And all that's behind It’s all in the moment I make up my mind And open my heart And start And start ‘Cause we’re always Starting over Every life we’re living And we’re always Just awake Every step we take And my love, our life is over But love, I’ll make you one last vow To start over And over And over somehow My new life starts right now!

I found this song so instrumental in my recovery and healing after I lost my late wife to Metastatic Breast Cancer in 2012. She came and picked me up at a time where I was getting over a very bad breakup. Every word, I could see myself singing to her, including the "F you" line, as I loved her that much and I was that mad that she had to leave and I was sucked into loving her completely. @@spinny418 No, she doesn't. I'm a voice teacher with multiple degrees and decades of experience. It's not a common technique. It's a bad one. The second you stick your tongue out, you create immense tension in your vocal mechanism which ultimately causes damage. Damage which Idina has and is clearly audible when you listen to her sing. There's a reason she sounds so much worse now than she did 20 to 30 years ago and there's a reason why her live performances are often so bad.

It's a bad singing technique, that shows there is tension. When you're singing you should be relaxed and the tongue has nothing to do with air. The tongue has to be down because there is more space in your mouth for the sound to come out, when there is tongue tension there is less space in your mouth so the sound will be a little more closed.
