hitting the cyclist and it being the cyclists fault, backed up by the dashcam. yet cyclists still think it would have been your fault

The issue is the law now places the blame on the driver automatically unless its obvious beyond doubt it was the cyclist's fault, so I have dashcams in all the cars and one on the bike, because these close and not so close encounters keep happening and its only a matter of time before something happens. A lot of it is the food delivery riders in a hurry to get out and get back that cause the problems.

You were going to stop anyway, and unless you were planning to rear end the taxi in front, the cyclist would have been unharmed. But a bit silly to cut a corner like that!

Coming up to give way signage and a t-junction, the driver would have been expected to slow down. Nice try Seany. Xx

@@andy-maunder it actually doesnt blame the driver automatically. still innocent until proven guilty. but the point was proven by the other comments made lol.

@@seansean9675 Technically yes, but statements like this; "Motorists should be made legally responsible for all accidents involving cyclists, even if they are not at fault", by government advisers, plus current social pressure in favour of cyclists, makes it difficult for drivers to prove their 'innocence' unless physically backed up with video evidence as they no longer get the 'benefit of the doubt'.
