I’m so grateful my Laotian parents passed on their squat genes to me 😂 they go back generations of eating and cooking on the ground without ever letting their butts or knees touch the ground. I used to take this for granted but never will again!

That's going to be me in 15 years. I love to squat when working in the garden. It's so much easier on the back.

My mom is 50+ years of age and has had severe neck issues like spondilitis for the past 10 years. This causes severe headaches and neck pain at times and totally ruins her day. On top of that she also developed a severe case of ulcerative colitis some 4-5 years ago which has aggravated the pain. Because of this she has to strictly monitor what she eats and can not exercise too intensly. I brought her CBD oil and balm which helps soothe her pain to a great degree but I've been looking for something to eliminate the pain completely and permanently from it roots. It's very true that everything in the body is related to the gut and therefore we should administer what goes inside our bodies. I'll tell her to try this with the hope that this does something miraculous that no doctor has been able to do

No blood pressure issues? If so, here's a life saver for you and her. Learned both of these from a therapist that could take your headache away by pressing on a single spot on your body. Miracle man, really. 1. Bend down while standing, touch the toes if you can, but let your body naturally hang. Do not push it. Your arms should be hanging down. Your hamstrings should be straight. No bending at the knees at all. The head should be hanging freely. The head weighs a good 15 lbs and it will stretch out all of the knots in your neck. It may feel weird at first. If there are severe issues, you can have a spike in headache or getting dizzy. This is normal, as your body is trying to heal. Stand in this position as relaxed as possible for as long as it's comfortable. You'll probably start with less thab 30 seconds. Rise slowly while exhaling very slowly all the way up. This will help to not get dizzy (it's actually a technique used by astronauts). Repeat a few sets. Repeat a few times a day.

2. Go to a 99 cents store and buy a small inflatable ball. Inflate it. Make sure it's firm but has a bit of give. Get on your knees and elbows on the ground. Put the ball on the ground at your forehead. Roll your ball leaning your neck left to right and forward and back. Put pressure if you need to strengthen the neck muscles. You can lean with your body weight for a very deep stretch. Hope these help for you as they are amazing. 🙂

Part of rehab after surgery to repair a broken tibia was to recover foldability...in that joint only. The medical profession has really drifted away from "everything is connected."

In my 57 years of age I fully agree with Ido, even though some would suggest that excessive bending of legs and limbs would hurt ankles but I guess it is an issue of moderation. And Now searching for a squatting on Knee chair that looks smarter than what they have in the market...

one of my friend's in Nigeria is about 45 ish, i saw his MOM squat down completely effortlessly to sit flat on the floor without even using her hands. My mom couldn't even imagine trying that. Too much always sitting in chairs and never using the full range of motion of the knees and hips definitely has it's downsides

Squatting deep allows some of the fluid in your knee to circulate which gives nutrients the ability to flow

Check out Original Strength. Tim Anderson has great stuff. Look into his "rocking" series and resets, and work the "squat position" on your hands and knees first.

A lot of knee problems derive from years of not utilizing the full ROM of a squat. Babies have the ability to squat w/ depth, but sadly a lot of people lose it by the time they are adults. by then it’s a process to get that mobility back.
