I say it every time she is mentioned, it is a crime that Natlie from Micronesia never made a return appearance. A first timer who played as well as survivor royalty on her first season, she was phenomenal.

Aubrey in EoE, I mean it’s was no secret they wanted nothing to do with her or joe, Victoria wouldn’t even look her in the eye, they were essentially walking red flags saying “Aubrey, we’re voting you out”

I think Aubry deserves some benefit of the doubt there; she got snowed by some VERY good social players and Big Wendy was a credible decoy boot. It was reasonable for Aubry to think she had at least three votes not hitting her that Tribal and while obviously she should have played her Idol there knowing what we know, from a player's perspective the reward for holding onto the Idol probably outweighs the medium risk of going home there.

This might be a topic to revisit after 46. Jem, Tiff, and Venus, were excusable, Hunter was quite bad, and Q was absolutely heinous. Especially considering he just had 2 votes left, had been a target most of the merge, was depending on 2 people who hated him and had voted for him twice, and Charlie flat out told Maria the plan was Q. A real team effort of incompetent gameplay and reckless idol holding between Q and Maria.

He didn't actually go home here, but Tyson not playing his idol at the final 6 of Blood Vs Water also deserves a mention. He guarantees someone from the other side goes home if he plays it on himself or Monica, but he keeps it and decides he'd rather draw a rock??? He said he wanted to keep his idol for his girlfriend Rachel which is nice and all, but then he uses the idol the next round anyways despite needing it way less.

This is absolutely 100% right. If he had gotten rocked out that tribal, not using his idol would make many a dumb moves list. But because he got lucky, Tyson gets away with what is statistically a major strategic error on his part, and so easily could have cost him the win.

I feel like Tyson likely thought that even if he got rocked out that night, with redemption island, he would beat Laura and Tina and easily come back, which honestly, I would see happening.

The Chris Noble section makes me want a video along the lines of ‘players who played the least Survivor’, by which I don’t mean first boots, but examples of players who got super deep into the game while doing as little playing Survivor as possible. Edge of Extinction is an obvious example, but also Ozzy in Redemption Island playing most of his game in 1v1 death matches, or hell you could even include the ‘haves’ tribe from Fiji for not actually needing to survive for most of the game!

The Mary boot in Micronesia...Tracy knew it was either her or her close ally Chet going, since Kathy was immune for that first tribal, so in an attempt to save the two of them, she goes and puts a bug in Joel's ear to convince him that supposed power couple Mikey B and Mary are running the show and are dangerous players that need to go ASAP, and it works as Mary gets blindsided out of the game

I think Ozzy’s idol hold in micronesia should be up there too. He may have been convinced that Jason was going home, but there was still very little of a reason for him not to play the idol. He knew he has a huge target on his back without the immunity necklace, and he knew that that vote would determine the direction the entire rest of the season would go. I know he thought his alliance was solid, but there was very little reason for him to believe that, and you should always expect people to flip, especially if they gave their word to someone else. If he had just played his idol that night, he probably would have had a strong enough (though smaller) alliance to protect him and allow him to win immunities for a while. He very easily could have made it to at LEAST final 5, assuming Amanda wouldn’t have targeted him after the initial tribal council. And he probably could have made it even further from getting more immunities. He could have won that season and he threw it all away. I absolutely love and adore Ozzy, but his ego got the best of him that time

The true black widows brigade was cirie, amamda, and parv. Natalie may have had some ability to convince men to do some stuff, but she was doing the bidding of the returnees. If she were actually a good player, she wouldn't have played FOR the returnees. She should have stuck with newbies.

I also feel like back in China people were still learning how to play with idols. the 1 attempt to vote out somebody in possession of an idol in Yau-man had him detecting he was in danger and playing it to save himself. Also the factor of when to get rid of an idol was still being learnt so I don't blame James too much. It still was an incredibly reckless hold but Jason from the next season was even more reckless because it should have been clear he was on the bottom.

@@permafrost803 No they could've just summarized how Kellee got possession of the two idols and just simply say that the vote at the final 13 was between her and Dan and the reason why Kellee was being targeted because before she targeted Dan; Kellee was thinking about wanting to target Missy and that's one of the reasons why Kellee received votes against her. They could've just stuck with that information alone and that would've been enough to mention her in the Top 5 of this video without divulging any information beyond that.

Because Kellee honestly had no reason to play them. In probably the worst moment of all survivor, each of her allies decided to be the worst people ever and effectively ruin the season instead of doing the morally correct thing to do in that circumstance. This isn't like James, where there's very little reason to not play it at that point due to the limited tribals left, especially one where he's an obvious target. From everything people were telling her to the awful circumstances surrounding it, it's reasonable for her to think that no one would go against her in that circumstance but leave it up to 39's cast to be the worst this game has ever seen besides Janet and Jamal, one of which didn't last another tribal. Should she have played them? Yes but it's not unreasonable for her to feel like everyone would be in consensus about that.
