They are indeed. I have however identified a potential issue with the 9mm 1911 variants. Both their single and double stack variants. I don’t have access to one of their .45’s or 10mm’s so I cannot speak to those. The issue we have ran into deals with the ejectors. Firstly, they are not undercut enough. Fully inserting the mag causes the feed lips to impact the ejector. The other issue is the ejector retaining pin. They use a 1/16” diameter roll pin. With the constant impact to the underside ejector during mag changes the retaining pin sheared off in both my DS and my son’s single stack. The DS sheared in under 1500 rounds and single stack made it 5000 rounds before failing. The roll pin makes sense in their aluminum frame variants as you want the pin to be a sacrificial piece instead of potentially damaging the softer frame material. I replaced the broken roll pins with solid ones from Wilson Combat (R36) after relieving the underside of the ejectors. This should resolve these issues so time will tell.

@ShooterReady489 was that with factory mags or aftermarket mags?

@@gleamtarrest6310 Factory magazines and a Checkmate brand(they are who make the factory magazine). This is apparently a very common and known issue with all 2011 style guns when it comes to slide lock reloads. Atlas gunwerks has a video on here explaining it. I was just assuming it was a QA/QC problem of not undercutting the ejector enough but that is not the case after all. Since I replaced the ejector retaining pin I have not had anymore issues. Now that I am aware of the cause I am more mindful of how I preform my reloads at slide-lock.

Nice, I was coming until they postponed it. I had plans at 2.

Yeah, I think due to the rain delay only half the people who signed up were able to make it. It was a fun match. I fully expected to be running through mud puddles the whole day but it actually wasn’t bad at all. Sorry you couldn’t make it!

How is it holding up? Have a single stack 9mm as well? How is it holding up?

Aside from the ejector retaining pin issue I caused, I love it. We currently have just under 2000 rounds through it or so. The only real negative things I have to say about the gun are easily fixed. First the grip is slick, which is why I did the silicone carbide modification to the grip module. Second thing I don’t care for is the rear sight. I love that it is a serrated matte black sight but the notch is way too wide. The other Tisas 9mm 1911’s we have utilize a .125” wide front sight and a .115” rear sight notch. The DS uses the same front sight but the rear sight notch is .170” wide. For my eyes, I prefer my rear sight notch to be no wider than .125” with that size front sight. That .170” notch on the factory DS robs some of the accuracy.
