Acquiring the iDry vacuum kiln has been a long time coming, but it's finally time to turn it on!

This initial startup of the kiln really explains why we went with this unit. Sure it was a big investment, but it should also return good margins if we can keep it running. But the point is, it's all auto controlled. We don't have to worry if the sun is shining, or about how hot or cold it is outside. The unit works all the time. Well, OK, if there is risk of freezing temps we may have to shut it down. But to be able to shove in a load of wood, and literally just push the "START" button, is where the real value is at. I intend to check this thing once a day at most just to make sure it's running and the trend looks right, and I'll open it to tighten straps maybe once a week. Otherwise it will run 24/7, day and night, sun or rain, and be drying lumber all the while. Passive income is the name of the game!
