With the release of the new Tales from the Pizzaplex book, Nexie, there has been a lot of excitement in the FNAF theory community over a character called the Mimic, and the possibility that it learned to mimic, and subsequently replace, William Afton as the main villain of FNAF as Glitchtrap in FNAF VR: Help Wanted and FNAF AR: Special Delivery, and as Burntrap in Security Breach.
However, in everyone’s enthusiasm to say William has been written out of the story, I think there are quite a few things that people are overlooking in regards to the books, such as Fazbear Frights, and evidence in Five Nights at Freddy's Security Breach, Help Wanted, and even Princess Quest

So, what are your thoughts on the Mimic? Is it important to the games? Or is William still the main force at play?

My main issue with the Mimic is how its role as a villain is to carry on William’s torch. However that role was always given to Vanny. If the Mimic was next in line to be the true murderer it just makes Vanny feel less important and as threatening as the rest of the animatronics.

Personally, I don't think it breaks as much Afton lore as people think. I'm sure Burntrap is still Afton, but likely just using various parts, some including Mimic stuff. Or what's left of the Mimic 01, is imitating Afton, and the Glitchtrap virus is just a version of Mimic 01. It still revives Afton, as the Mimic thinks it's Afton.

William Afton is just the red herring character that's been stretched so long, the fanon theories inspired Scott to make multiple imposters that take his name and become the killer (if they weren't one already). The Real William Afton showed up in fnaf6 in Susie's fruity maze minigame. He fully regained his human appearance and rebuilt Springbonnie. With him around, he can rebuild the discarded Susie (she's night 4 and 5 "Baby") into the Susie we play as in fnaf6 and Elizabeth as VR/SB Vanessa. Note that we never seen Vanny's eyes and that's important because they could be Susie's BLUE eyes instead of Elizabeth's GREEN eyes. Scraptrap is simply an imposter that lacks William's skills. The abusive Henry Emily took his name to lure Baby into a false sense of Secuity. The Mimic is the most recent imposter and I doubt he's not replicating this image on purpose.

Also, Old Man Consequences is William Afton and he is there to support Cassidy in defeating the Mimic.
@justice8718
@justice8718 Жыл бұрын
My guess is that the Mimic is actually a combination of the imposter from fnaf6 and the original mimic. They both had the abusive fathers of Henry Emily and Edwin that outright almost killed them. They would naturally fuse together like how ELizabeth and Charlie did in the book trilogy. For the record, "I always come back" is a motto for the imposter since he saw him die in SAVEHIM, get lcoked away in fnaf3, burned in fnaf3, and burned in fnaf PS. Henry is constantly trying to get rid of him. On the mimic's side, he could possess Vanessa and Gregory as a virus, since they're robots. Not human beings.

@Joshua ColdStone No.The actual fucking mci murder involved all five of the chidlren at once and a foxy suit. The MCI killer didn't wear a costume in "Foxy go go go!" and the Mimic (the fnaf2 endo) never witnessed the original MCI event. The killer in SAVETHEM is a copycat killer that walks very robotically and stiffly, Springtrap. The killer the Mimic actually replicated and repeated the movements of, as evident in the fnaf2 cameras. Did you know that the real reason that the employees in the safe room were encouraged to not stay in them because Springtrap was an active and aggressive animatronic back before fnaf2? "Hello, hello! Uhm, this is just a reminder of company policy concerning the safe room. The safe room is reserved for equipment and or other property not currently being used, and as a backup safety location for employees only. This is not a break room, and should not be considered a place for employees to hide and or (Don't understand what is being said), and under no circumstance should a customer EVER be taken into this room, and out of the main show area. Management has also been made aware, that the Spring Bonnie animatronic, has been noticeably moved. We would like to remind employees, that this costume is not safe to wear under any circumstances. Thank you, and remember to smile, you are the face of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza." They feared Springtrap and the customers getting close to him. It's not because of Springlock failures or the potential of witnessing them. They already solved the issue by replacing the springlock suits entirely with regular costumes. That monster was alive the whole time and it was present in the fnaf2 location, waiting for the time to make a brand-new infamous event.

I honestly don't mind William coming back so long as they do it right. Help Wanted is all about Fazbear Entertainment taking these tragic events from the past and making a mockery of them for marketing. The idea of William being this force of nature kind of character that acts as a punishment to Fazbear Entertainment and their reckless greed is a pretty good idea. This even lines up with 3 and 6 in a symbolic sort of way. In 3, the game takes place in a horror attraction based on the rumors of the old Freddy's locations made by presumably a bunch of teenagers, William is a hulking zombie of an animatronic. He's fast, dangerous, and tanks a whole ass fire with barely any damage aside from his pelvis. In FNAF 6, Freddy's reopens for Henry to set things right. For the first time, Fazbear Entertainment came back to do good, and likewise, Afton is more pathetic than ever. He's a rambling old man lodged in the vent shafts with a suit held together by nothing more than duct tape and stubbornness. It may be unintentional, but I feel it's a nice bit of symbolism that gets across Afton's character, as well as giving some actual storytelling reason for why the cripple furry unkle keeps coming back to the Thanksgiving dinner table each year.

@@IDsFantasy I didn't think about the implications of the UCN lines. I guess if the mimic somehow isn't burntrap, then the glitchtrap virus could explain it. It could've had access to the AR animatronics. I do think it's odd how he seems to almost exclusively speak in UCN lines though.
@justice8718
@justice8718 Жыл бұрын
Scraptrap himself is also NOT William Afton. The real one showed up in fnaf 6 as a human in a costume, with his appearance reflected on the canonically real Fruity Maze game. William is a master of animatronics; he wouldn't rebuild himself horribly. The biggest theme about him and the Mimic is that they never ever once mention trying to put anyone back together. Thinking akin to the real William Afton However, the one animatronic that does say this line is Nightmare Fredbear in fnaf UCN, whom is combined with several beings/voices. Cassidy and OCM (William Afton, Bill in "Step Closer") have the friendliest and caring interactions, unlike goddamn Henry. to reasonably allow them to synergize together as one being, "We know who are our friends are and you are not one of them." William also pretended to be Fredbear for the sake of loving his son in fnaf4. You can see the strong scientist aspects of William's character within Nightmare Fredbear from how they express their subtle curiosities on ripping and manipulating your vessel. So if William was ever your killer, he would think and act like a mad scientist about it.

_Finally_ someone else pointing out the timeline weirdness with the Storyteller's design (and how "I always come back" makes no sense for Mimic)! Definitely looks like in Tales the Mimic is fully replacing Afton (probably because he got trashed hard in Frights), but yeah there's some odd holes if we try to say he's totally out of the picture in the games. It's certainly possible future stories could provide explanations for these, so not ruling it out, but feels to me like there's enough holes we should at least be a bit more hesitant about shouting "EVERYTHING WE KNOW IS A LIE". Also... yeah that is not how you hold a plush xD If you take it out of context it looks plausible, but if you watch the cutscenes themselves, I dunno. Re: Cassidy, Special Delivery also provides evidence for her being back and chasing Glitchtrap. - In the first teaser, an unknown number texts and says "IT'S ME". - In the second teaser, this same number says "I WILL FIND YOU" before being replaced by someone named "C" spamming the same thing. - In the launch trailer, the television screen gets replaced by the letter "C" and the words "it's me" float above it. - In the cut emails, a virus infects the shipping company, but Vanessa traps it in one spot for a bit and ultimately wipes it from their systems, which makes it seem like it's someone besides Glitchtrap. - In the game, Golden Freddy is super glitchy and janky, the words "it's me" flicker around your screen when he shows up as if there's actual supernatural stuff, and he rotates through the other main AI modes (which'd make sense if he's behind them). Combined with the Curse of Dreadbear and Princess Quest easter eggs, sure looks like she's following everyone's favorite malhare around, which is strange if he's not William.

I don't think Cassidy is the one casting the messages. It's Charlie and it's a weird... weird... storyline with her and her... twin brother.. Cassidy and Afton (OCM) are not like this to each other, but Charlie would be the most interested in bringing her brother back or retrieving him from the Mimic. In a weird way, the Mimic replaced her and became Sammy's other half. So that's why this usually evil character (Nightmare) would help out OCM/Afton and Cassidy in Princess Quest 3.

@@justice8718 C being Charlotte is also something I've thought about (especially because an 8-bit LEFTE sprite is hidden in one of the glitches in the trailer, alongside Purple Guy and either Springtrap or Glitchtrap), but the repeated "IT'S ME" seems to suggest Golden Freddy's spirit is involved, whether that's as C or whether C and Unknown are two different people working together. If Sammy does exist in the games, he'd be in his forties or fifties by now, so I dunno about him being involved, personally.
@justice8718
@justice8718 Жыл бұрын
@@lewstherintelescope LMAO. Sammy literally died all the way in SAVEHIM. He's the one that actually possesses the Springtrap suit and the Scraptrap suit as a savage murderer. Fnaf6 revealed that when Susie was playtesting the arcade games at the fnaf6 location, William was there and almost revealed himself when she play tested Fruity Maze. William clearly fully recovered his old human appearance and properly rebuilt the Springbonnie animatronic to blend into the Pizza Simulator. Scraptrap is literally not William Afton. And, the real William Afton was present in fnaf6 (the cameo in Fruity Maze) as well SB (the DAVE reference in the message logs). This would explain why Scraptrap/Mimic called himself the rabbit and GGY as the Magician's apprentice in the Tales books. The Magician would be the actual William Afton.

I love the Mimic, in terms of character, design, villainous intentions, concept , and more. But my only problem with the Mimic is how it managed to make everyone think it was true antagonist and identity of Burntrap in Security Breach. Intended or not Steel Wool has steered us so far into believing that Glitchtrap and Burntrap were William. Sure in terms of a villainous threat and character arcs they haven’t done that well, but I just accepted that, and saw hope for what the Ruin dlc could do with William. So when everyone started saying that Glitch and Burntrap was actually an advanced AI that has been around since the 80’s and is now the course of everything we see in Security Breach and wanting to revive Afton’s legacy. I was conflicted with myself on whether or not I liked it. Sure Glitchtrap being a sentient AI fused with William’s agony is a good concept, but being an AI that was doing its own thing from the beginning just doesn’t click right to me. And all the purple mist and glow in Burntrap’s eyes just scream William so why have the Mimic just steal that? And if it’s goal is to revive the Aftons like what William failed to do then why not bring him back too? Also we know that the princess is most likely Cassidy and the corrupted Staff Bots are most likely Charlie, so if they still have William being tortured in UCN than why would they care about some AI that’s trying to copy him and attempt to stop it? It was William who hurt them after all, not this stupid machine. And finally my main issue with the Mimic being Burntrap and behind everything in Security Breach is the fact how it’s villainous goal is to resurrect William or his legacy, that’s it’s big role. However we already have a character who we believed took that role and that his Vanny. If the Mimic is meant to receive William’s torch than wouldn’t that make Vanny as a concept a whole lot less important? If the Mimic is William’s 5 star general then what would that make Vanny? Just a soldier like the rest of the animatronics? My point is that while the Mimic is great for being a form of replacement for William it just feels too much like William to be it’s own thing, and it just downgrades every other character in Security Breach. TL DR: I like the Mimic, but I don’t think it would make sense from a narrative perspective to have it be the characters that seemed so much like William, and it just makes every other character in Security Breach flop. Thank you for pointing this all out.

Sure, he definietly looked menacing back then but he wasn't enough menacing to have his whole story end. Pulling an AI that saw Afton's doings and thought to itself "I'm William Afton now" just isn't good enough to replace William Afton and become the main antagonist of Security Breach. I like to think that, during the events of Help Wanted, Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria company made an AI consciousness that has William's personality and memories, to serve as him in the VR, but as we know, the AI became the Mimic and took over Vanny to put him into Afton's body, because he thought he is actually Afton.

Another great video! Personally, I don’t know why so many people want William permanently gone from the series. Look at most major classic 80s and 70s Horror IPs, the main bad guy always sticks around. They always come back. I get that it can become the same old song and dance, but at the very least Afton should remain involved in the story, be it physical, spiritual, or virtual.

I mostly agree with this with the only difference being until burntrap I think that glitchtrap is primarily the mimic afflicted by Williams lingering essence as Cassidy went to attack the William copy and Williams souls took the chance to follow just like it did to Andrew in the books. Once burntrap is being built I think William takes full control and ends the mimics major role up to date.

Finally someone acknowledging that Mimic outright replacing afton doesn't make much sense. It always confused me why people were so adamant that hes was gone and are shocked by his return in SB when UCN already confirmed that him, GF and the other souls he's holding hostage are still around (not to mention that one frights book which adds onto the idea that he's still at play). Also the community treating the pizzaplex books as canon when there are details that don't match up with the games like a guy called edwin or the new head called mr burrows is just weird, it just makes more sense to see this as like the frights books, not 1 to 1 situations that happened in the games.

@@IDsFantasy I also dont like the Mimic as a character. It's just so weird for the story to go "Ok William is dead so his 'successor' is a robot puppeteering his corpse that also has all of William's motives and memories for 'reasons' in Fnaf vr. Boom new Villan everyone!" Like, if you wanted a new villain Vanny was right freaking there!!! But no it's a robot who apparently through Fnaf vr has all of William's motives and memories. Thats not a new villain, that to me creates a situation where if Mimic has William's motives and memories as well as Williams appearance then why is William dead. Nothing changes if William is alive or not because in this instance both have everything from William. So if nothing would've changed other then "William isnt William, but instead a robot with all his memories and things" then again, what was the freaking point of having William dead!?!?!? Sorry for the long, probably redundant post, but idk I would've preferred William coming back if they stuck the landing with his reveal and battle. TL:DR I don't like the Mimic as it feels redundant to have a character with William's motives and memories only for it to not be William Mr. "I always come back" having never done so.

Also, I really hope you're going over the epilogue I think you are in your next video because that epilogue further solidifies my hatred for Mimic making no sense (at least to me) because how would the Mimic have fused into William's corpse without crushing William's skull? The Mimic presumably has a head which would need space to fit into Burntraps head, but there is no space and the Mimic would've crushed William's skull doing that, but we know that can't happen because William's jaw is intact. So the epilogue implies that somehow Mimic fused with the corpse while not crushing William's skull and also somehow attached William's jaw to where Mimics jawline would be for the aesthetic I guess?

Honestly here’s how I think security breach should have been. 1. The game should have came out in 5 chapters, each chapter representing a night that were stuck in the pizzaplex. 2. Vanessa and vanny should have either been separate people or the same but they aren’t aware of one another, like 2 minds sharing 1 body oblivious to each other that way vanessa could be a heroic guide to us without knowing she’s the antagonist. 3. Glitchtrap and vanny should have been the main focus to discover as we play, and they should have been boss battles. 4. The pizzaplex should have been darker with only neon lights to add to the fear factor, and it should have focused more on flashlights, stealth, puzzles and the security systems. 5. Their should have been a range of different tools and weapons we could use to protect ourselves or solve puzzles, a the possibility to upgrade and change them. 6. We should have been the choice to either destroy the animatronics and upgrade Freddy, or free them from glitchtraps control and they aid us through the nights. 7. The game should’ve had 3 endings, a good/true ending where we defeat glitchtrap and fix everything, a bad/fake ending where we lose and glitchtrap wins, and a secret/mystery ending where we discover something unknown. 8. Their should have been more humans like security guards or technicians in the building along with us. 9. There should have been more and fully animated cutscenes that are either 2d or 3d animation. 10. The characters should interact more with eachother and stuff.

Most interesting version I've heard (from a throwaway commenter under Rye toasts video of all places) is that the mimic isn't burntrap, it's the story teller. It is trying to remix the stories it learned in VR by doing things like creating a bunny killer (vanny), kidnapping children and bringing back springtrap. Still has issues and would need someone to explore it more but it is interesting and fits better with security breach in my mind at least. oh, and love the new character art.

I can see where multiple things are happening at the same time that lead to a perfect storm. 1 being that Elizabeth in one of her aged forms is the reason Fazbear comes back. Explains Vanny/Vanessa/Patient 46 neatly and why the company came back. 2 is that because of orders to speed things along the Mimic program is used for its adaptive properties. New show ideas are important for business, but it can also infiltrate other systems easily. 3 would be that Afton is being kept alive and that’s the events of Security Breach. Glitch Trap is the Mimic pulling Afton into a viable host (whatever/whoever that is) per the request of Elizabeth.

Crazy theory time: I think our good old pal Psychic Friend Fredbear is the game equivalent of the mimic. One detail that has faded into obscurity is that when the crying child dies it is a different voice speaking to him than the one that Fredbear has used throughout the game. I believe that the mimic is a soft retcon of the Fredbear plush to say that Fredbear was both an animatronic friend designed to follow the crying child and a vessel for William to speak through. It would stand to reason that even with the Fredbear system William couldn’t keep a constant eye on the crying child he would have to look away for a significant amount of time to work plus he wouldn’t have time to be such a close friend to the crying child. Thus he needed Fredbear to be able to act on his own through a program that could learn and adapt, mimicking the crying child to be a better friend. Once William began trying to put his son back together, his first attempt would be to put the mimic program in a replica of his son seeing as it was designed to imitate him. But when the result didn’t meet his standards William lashed out, both teaching the mimic violence and pouring out his agony born of his want to rebuild his family and to lash out at the world into the mimic. From here the theory intercets with a previous theory of mine regarding Glitchtrap. William knew that PizzaSim was a trap so it strikes me as very out of character that someone as smart as William would willingly walk into it without a contingency. Previously I had believed that this contingency was the AI parts of his suit that he left behind in the transition from Springtrap to Scraptrap, that he intended for those parts infused with his remnant to be discovered and implemented into something digital (I only say this because I don’t think he would’ve exactly been planning to end up in Help Wanted) so that fragment of him could either rescue him if he was trapped or carry on his legacy if he died. But now I believe that contingency was the mimic, now infused with parts from the Springtrap suit and to make imitating William easier and told to lay in wait for when the dust settled and for the time to come to fulfill that purpose of either saving or replacing William.

While I do think that on an objective level, this theory is very possible, on a subjective level, things get a bit more shaky. We have to consider the reaction that the fan base had after Security Breach released. If we purely look at things from an evidential perspective, of course Afton is Burntrap, everything outside of Tales tells us as much. However. If we look at things from the perspective of literally trying to fundamentally fix the franchise’s story, the Mimic is almost undoubtedly Burntrap, and Afton is dead. Think about it. Burntrap’s reveal nearly singlehandedly destroyed the reputation that FNaF’s story had built up. Afton was back, and he would always come back, no matter what. Nobody- and I mean NOBODY- liked that. It’s lame, it’s dumb, and it’s a waste of a good setup given by FNaF VR. But if the Mimic is our new “Afton,” then the series is fixed. I know this is a controversial word in the FNaF fandom, but the Mimic just reads like a retcon. It literally fixes the entire plot of Security Breach just by existing. And yes, the Mimic replacing Afton does mean that Afton never came back after proclaiming that he always comes back, but who flipping cares, he’s an egotistical maniac who in his own words went for a “deceptive calling” because it was intriguing in the same game. Afton doesn’t have to come back just because he says he will. It doesn’t have to mean anything. So in conclusion: yeah, sure, Afton might be back, the Mimic might not have much of a meaning. But considering how it would save the asses of everyone involved in the development of FNaF games, it seems a lot more likely that the Mimic is Burntrap and Glitchtrap.

@@IDsFantasy I find it a bit far fetched to think that Tales from the Pizzaplex was being worked on in 2019. Tales wasn’t even ANNOUNCED until, like, what, 2021? And even if it was being worked on in 2019, Scott could very easily change the epilogues to retcon the games. He changed various things from stories to be more accurate to the game, so why couldn’t he do the same for the epilogues? And also, _what’s the point of the Mimic’s existence if not to be a solution to Glitchtrap and Burntrap?_ Like… what is it doing there? Why is it used as a clear Glitchtrap parallel? Why is it modeling itself after William Afton? Why is it using Afton’s tactics to murder its victims? What is the point of it being in the closed off FNaF 6 building if not to become Burntrap? Why should we care about any of this? The Mimic being some unrelated character seems like it just raises even more questions, where as it being Glitchtrap and Burntrap makes the plot of this series actually compelling again.

@@DarkShadic9632 you think mimic is a solution to burntrap or glitchtrap I don't agree, glitchtrap as afton was build up well in HW, that is not the same as SB, lore insnt bad because of afton, but because of how they used him, imagine burntrap or glitchtrap being mimic, a character without connection to William (him mimicing afton is just a speculation, without it this theory doesnt even work) And not being build up in the games, then let IT kill of at the end, that is even worse, And we know Tales from the pizzaplex were written alongside making of the SB, Now is this a retcon I don't think soo, every time we have a huge retcon (this connect to the main Story, So it is being a big retcon) Scott always informed us, remember miketrap, or the bite of 87 or fnaf 4, which was retconed by game directly not by book

@@Idk_anymore_1234 whether or not the exact events of the Mimic’s stories are canon, its existence shouldn’t just be written off. I personally am of the belief that Edwin Murray in the books is a parallel to Henry in the games. That would change a solid amount of the Mimic’s backstory, but it would still give a solid solution to Steel Wool’s current problem. As you said, Afton being back isn’t necessarily the problem; Burntrap’s execution is. After the shit show that was Burntrap, the common consensus was that Afton needed to die. Officially, flat out. So what’s the solution that still leaves an Afton-like entity while also killing off Afton? Simple. The Mimic. Hence why Steel Wool and Scott would come up with the Mimic. It’s the best of both worlds; Afton dies in FNaF 6, as the fans wanted for him, and they still get to use Glitchtrap, all while having a terrifying new foe that the fans can get behind. It’s a win all around. Genuinely, it’s Steel Wool’s and especially Scott’s best way out of the hole they dug themselves.

Since in the books the AI replicated with experience in physical form being the Tiger. But the AI and help wanted not only can possess you, has voice lines talking down to Vanny but would have to mimic it's own real life. It wouldn't make sense for the mimic to suddenly develop Afton from hearing about the murders...if no one knew who did it and the main focus were scary animatronics and missing children. I'm not much of a theorist but if I were to take a guess at the importance of the mimic I'd say it's less an introduction of this new character/program and more of a reminder about where we started with the whole Charlie-Eleanor-Elizabeth-Baby connection in the silver eyes books. A robot created to mimic a human life that, after being possessed had its code basically altered and gained new memories. Elizabeth basically imprinted on to Baby so that the animatronic could mimic her in certain ways. I think the same is true of Glitchtrap. William was bound so tightly to the golden bunny that the code had essentially changed to recognise itself as Afton so, when it was scanned, instead of identifying itself as Golden/Spring Bonnie it reverted back to the mascot suit Afton presumably wore at the initial dinner before the spring lock suits were created.

I have been very conflicted over how best to use Frights and Tales in solving the lore. On the one hand, the marketing and certain details make a case for them being canon to the game timeline plausible. But on the other hand, there are all the really good points you, Ryetoast and Fuhnaff have made about the books. I mean just look at Susie. Susie from Coming Home is obviously meant to be connected to Game Susie but she's a brunette in that book's story which clashes with Game Susie who is blond. Yeah, I think I need to do some reworking of my theorycanon. TalesGames and StitchlineGames are doable but they are horrendously messy theory models and I'm not convinced enough of them.

If Mimic can mimic most voices they hear, they could be the phone guy. Gathering data on humans to mimic more things humans do by stalking Michael and mimicking his personality, hoping to be more like him and learning how to communicate more. And that's why they know to mimic Gregory and trick Cassie into freeing them, because they know sympathy now. So they stalked Cassie and started to see Cassie's friendship with Gregory and so he analyzed Gregory's voice and tricked her,

Thanks for being like the only theorist not going insane trying force the books into the games. The games story is the main thing and the books are meant to be guides or an additional fact generator. The mimic isn't meant to be a solve it all, its just an extra plot point and I think it's more them covering vr and making that more solid than anything security breach related. I never thought the Mimic was mimicking William, for the same reasons you listed here and more. Like the whole UCN thing seemed to be set up in the first place to keep the purple guy in play and to later give the standard moral that revenge is wrong and just continues a cycle. If the Mimic has anything to do with the games directly I'd sooner buy it having something to do with the Blob than Glitchtrap.

I agree entirely. The Mimic makes for a super cool replacement for William as a copycat villan, but the bulk of the evidence and that it came AFTER security breach made it feel like a retcon instead of what was wholly intended. Though I do think a mimic type antagonist would be super interesting, and I don't blame anyone who wants to put the Mimic in place of William, despite the narrative conflicts it presents. Also agree that it would seem odd for William to not "always come back" after the first game where he says "I always come back" in fnaf 6, though I belive a similar statement is in the fnaf 3 trailer.

Congratulations to id's Fantasy for making an other Great Theory video. I am so happy to know that i am not the only one to think that Afton is not really dead. When the mimic got revealed people just gave for good the assumption that Afton was dead for good. But to me that is absolutely not the case. You made great points about it. For example the sahdowy purple fog and burntrap purple eyes in the SB ending possibly telling us that Afton is still there or the various reasons that Glitchtrap is Afton. Qhat surely did not convince me was the fact that people said that Glitchtrap mimicked only Tape girl lines in the game. Just like the mimc was programmed to do. Listen and mimic. But then a few moments later when we put on the Vanny mask we can hear Vanessa and Glitchtrap talking togheter. It looks impossible to me that the mimc actually gained enough words to mimc and have a full speech with Vanny. Also the thing about the "I Always come back" being more related with Afton than the Mimc was a perfect detail. As you said is very likely most possible for Afton to be the villain than the mimc. If you think about it the mimic is just a rageful endoskeleton with no soul or life who becomes Afton biggest fan boy and decides to mimc him in all the way possible. And as you said it makes more sense for Afton being glitchtrap than the mimic itself. In the end how could he possess the mind of a person without having some supernatural elements involved. In the end he's just a computer virus. Or you could just say it was Edwin's agony that filled the mimic but i don't think that's a good excuse. Agree with basicalky everything you said. I do in fact think that the mimic played a role in SB (for example the post it room) but that the main villain that we see in SB was Afton himself. The mimic was most likely used to cover some plot holes. Great video ;)

I'm not sure if someone else mentioned this theory, but the mimic could be more related to Henry than William. Henry built the puppet to protect Charlie and in the silver eyes after she passes he built robots to mimic her, taking his rage out on the last one. It could be another parallel story and William may have taken the mimic and use it as a tool like he did with the adult Charlie. Of course William also built psyche friend Fred bear to watch over his son and it failed causing him to rage so it could be either Dad since both have similar stories, one just murdered kids.

This. Honestly thank you once again. The Mimic, while a cool concept, just - at least to me - felt like it didn’t fully fit in with security breach. Too many plot holes, too many things to consider, as you stated in this, and as the name suggests, the Mimic, well, mimics lol. It can make it’s own decisions eventually, but at its core, it mimics people. The whole, ‘mind control’ and consciousness transfer stuff doesn’t make sense for it to do in terms of games. But as I was saying, honestly thank you, you’ve done a great job again - your explanations are on point and aren’t confusing, despite FNAF being a…shall we say somewhat confusing series lol. You provide a logical and rational explanation and don’t jump on any claims or theories that seem too out there, as FNAF, despite being somewhat silly, does try to explain the stuff that happens such as possession via scientific (albeit science fiction) means, and you provide a easy to follow explanation with the recent mimic stuff. It’s very refreshing and for once a video didn’t leave me like ‘huh?’ Again lol. So well done, while I personally think that we just need to wait for more content and games to get the explanation we’re looking for, I think this is the closest to explaining the actual scenario that’s happening in security breach, so thank you once again for a great video and a great explanation! @@erickamakeeaina1649 Interesting idea, but I don't really see how you could buy and own Augmented Springtraps if there was only one, which was Scrap Springtrap repaired back to his FNaF3 look, not even a burn mark on the corpse? Plus Illumix confirmed there is important lore to The Curse and I don't think Mimic just made his newfound idol into it. Fazbear probably just adopted Augmented Springtrap units after the initial surprise of Glitchtrap creating one. Or alternatively getting his old body for repairs, with Augmented Springtraps appearing as a result. Either way, there seems too strong of evidence to claim them not a legion of many. It's also important to note how unlike other skins, each Springtrap one has a connection not just to Spring Bonnie, but William specifically. One which is purple, to represent his identity as The Purple Man. One which burns eternally, as he had been burnt not just twice, but probably many, many more in UCN. One that's fat, just like William was at one point "hefty", with a clown aesthetic, like what he made his own robots in the image of. And one that although we are not sure what it is yet, holds some secret. And if only A. Springtraps were Afton, how come both he and Glitchtrap claim to be back? If he saw the true William, surely he'd learn he isn't the real one. As Phone Dude said, the one he found was "a real one"

Mattpatt made an idea that William Afton made a literally copy-paste of his mind as a program, in form of Glitchtrap. However, another idea of his is that Afton’s new body Burntrap was still intact, but it’s endoskeleton had literally been replaced, so that’s a big no. My idea, following the idea of The Mimic, The Mimic didn’t follow Afton’s mind’s path, but it’s AI was replaced by the Digital copy of William, in form of Glitchtrap. The Mimic then followed its programming by finding the Rotten Burnt corpse of Scraptrap, And holographically wearing a Mimicry costume of Scraptrap’s corpse, hence explaining why the Scraptrap corpse doesn’t fit with Mimic’s Endo, but instead was proportionally stretched and changed with the shape of the arms, body, and head, to fit Mimic’s base Endo frame, but also keep the fundamentals of Scraptrap. In simple for who’s controlling it: Mimic’s in the Driver’s seat, but Williams the Driving Instructor. What do you think of this idea?

I think the answer to why they made the Mimic in the books is pretty simple. With how they ended Fazbear Frights, they couldn't have William come back in Tales The two series are or at least were planned to be connected, since the first story in Tales is about girls who also met Eleanor and got tricked. But if that is true, then there isn't a way for Afton to become Glitchtrap. He already spent his Agony and Remnant in Fazbear Frights. So they had to course correct and make a new villain for the series who can work is a kinda sorta standin/replacement.

Gregory wasn't the one who put the glitchtrap virus in the PizzaPlex. It's said in the CD that there was a glitch in the PizzaPlex systems before GGY's glitch that employees were trying to fix. "While the techs were trying to reprogram the system to remove the glitch, the source of the glitch shifted" What Gregory did was, he moved the source of the glitch, which was the storyteller tree, somewhere else. "but what I understand is that the glitch stopped being a glitch and turned into an intentional set of subroutines that were aimed at creating the same thing the glitch created. Those subroutines seem to have come from you." And he modified the Glitch to still do the same thing, but made it more harder to get rid off. Gregory didn't put the Glitch in the PizzaPlex, he changed it's source and made it into a feature. While I do disagree Afton is still alive. I do think some of Afton's agony from his corpse might've influenced some of the Mimic's motives and personality when it attached itself to his corpse. If Charlotte's agony after FNaF 6 still linger in the PizzaPlex, Via Nightmarionne, Why not William's aswell. Anyways. Good Video 👍

@@IDsFantasy "The tapes and Tales mention the stuff being traced specifically to Gregory, meaning he's the source of the code." Yea, he became the source after he moved it from the storyteller tree. The storyteller tree was the original source, then Greg transferred the source to himself and his hacking tools. That's why we see 2 glitches in TFTP that infect the PizzaPlex and it's animatronics. The glitch from the storyteller (story) and in GGY (story). The Storyteller infected the PizzaPlex, then Greg controlled the infection and now can control the robots, like Glamrock Freddy in the GGY story. So yea Greg was the source of the glitch, but he wasn't the original. "Out of curiosity, why couldn't William be alive?" I'm not saying it's impossible for William to survive. It's just won't be satisfying after what we learned from The Mimic arc. Why make a new Villain, if he's just gonna be replaced by him. Why not just make William the Villain again. I mean, they did it in both the novel trilogy and Frights, so why not tales. It's not like the Mimic started to mimic William after the events of the epilogues. It's clear from the first Epilogue it is already mimicking William, by having rabbit ears built in it's endo before he wears the suit and the flesh. Alright enough me ranting. To answer your question. He still can be alive, but at this point we're not 100% sure. Especially after The Mimic story and everything that revolves around it. And if it's revealed, or it's hugely hinted, that Afton is 100% dead. Then maybe our answer of what happened to William lies with The Stitchwraith stingers. Personally I'm not a Stitchline believer. But if Afton is 100% dead after UCN, then maybe it wouldn't be a huge stretch to fit it in the games timeline. I mean, it does tell us how William meats his end. And either way, the Stingers end with everyone dead like FNaF 6. So, in the end, it wouldn't really have an effect on the future lore. Heck, I thought it would be fun to play devil's advocate and pretend that The stingers are connected to the games. So I made a short timeline that contained The Stingers (with the Frights stories that are connected to it), Some of the games and all of the TFTP books into one timeline. @@IDsFantasy Like I said, he modified the code to make it harder to get rid off. The Storyteller tree infected the PizzaPlex, While Greg modified it to make the glitch harder to get rid of and making it a feature and control the robots. The Gs and Ys are the result of these modifications. Like the CDs say, the GGY glitch is trying to do the same thing as the previous glitch. He also changed it because Fazbears were familiar with the Mimic1 program, so Greg had to modify it to make it unfamiliar to the workers. Fair. I guess we'll have to wait until the next couple epilogues tell us. I mean, technically Andrew wasn't apart of the MCI, he was killed separately from the others, the vision we see in into the pit is just a corrupted memory made by Eleanor. Andrew might possibly have even died in another Fazbear location if we take the story The New Kid into account, where we see a kid with black curly hair stuffed into a golden freddy suit, the kid most likely being Andrew. So if that's true. That would mean Afton killed Andrew and stuffed him into a golden freddy suit in one of the sister location's. That could maybe explain why TOYSNHK sometimes takes the appearance of golden freddy. It's not the same golden freddy that cassidy was stuffed into. It's another golden freddy suit from a different location. Which we know exists since fnaf 3 tells us that the springlock incidents occurred in some of the sister locations, so multiple golden freddys do exist. But if I'm wrong on that and Andrew did die in the OG Freddy's, then judging by the Toy chica cutscenes, where it shows 7 victims killed by toy Chica, Andrew was possibly killed outside, because maybe Afton enjoyed his killing spree a little to much at this point, and hid his body somewhere in the pizzeria, maybe in one of the spare costumes that came in after the banning of springlocks. Technically, the funtime freddy we see in count the ways isn't the same funtime freddy. Their personalities are completely different. The og Funtime Freddy couldn't even talk on his own, he used pre recorded voice lines. So where did he come from ? IDK, my best guess is that he's an older funtime freddy that afton scrapped like yenndo, lolbit and bonnet. It also can't be the OG funtime freddy anyways since the story takes place after fnaf 6. I know I sound like a Stichline believer at this point, but ever since The Mimic stories and the possibility that afton could be 100% dead. I've started to analyse the stingers and see if they truly can be in the games. While there are some minor inconsistencies, they don't really effect the larger picture. But again, I'm still not 100% confident that they are Canon

1:00 I had a funny feeling that Felix the Shark was foreshadowing all this.

@@IDsFantasy So, I reread Felix the Shark and realised maybe this book has more connections to tales of the pizzaplex than I initially thought. I'm probably going to look further into this...

I don't think he's curling his arm because plushie behaviour but rather he didn't get used to his left arm since he's missing it for god how long since we see him in FNaF6 And the fact that he doesn't talk at all does support the idea of burntrap being a Mimic

Makes sense lol He actually does have voice lines, just laughing rather than words :D

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! This theory works so well! This mimic thing has been a thorn in my side for weeks about being a replacement for William. Your theory makes so much sense for possible future events. Great work!

Candy Cadet literally confirmed the mimic is canon and most likely Burntrap. RIP

Actually I disagree. Given Mimic looks nothing like Burntrap minus a hand and behaves nothing like him, I took the DLC as confirmation it was its own thing

No it doesn't, Ruin dlc literally confirms Burntrap & Mimic are separate entities.

I dont really like when the lore relies on the books it makes it confusing becuase some elements are more litteral and some more metaphoric

Yeah. I like how the books clarify things, but I don't think it should be the main thing we go off of for everything
