I was a young professional deer culler in the New Zealand Forest Service in the early 1960's. I saved very hard to buy a Sako .270. No scope until I could afford a Nikko 4x40 much later. The best rifle for the job and to this day, in my 70's, I still use a Sako .270.

I’ll deal with the extra recoil when sighting in before season … after that it’s basically one shot per animal. I’ve never even noticed recoil when taking a shot while hunting. Other things to concentrate on I guess. Thanks for the video.

In my opinion they are the best rifles ever made, I would never have any other hunting rifle even if I had $1 million I would always buy a Sako rifle!!! I have never had a Teaka but I have heard nothing but good things about them as well. They’re not made from the same factory, and they are a little cheaper built cheaper parts here in there, but I have heard nothing but good things and they are deadly accurate as well. @@edwardabrams4972 Thank you for the reply and backing me up. It’s always nice to hear from another sako owner with knowledge and experience:) ever since I saw what my fathers rifle could do and was capable of, I have never looked back ! The functionality, the beauty and the mechanics are just simply priceless :-) I’ve never owned a custom rifle, but I’ve had some extremely top-quality rifles and handguns in my time, so I have complete confidence with my opinions. whenever I take my Sako Forrester out to the range or have it out hunting , it always intrigues people and I get lots of questions and compliments. People want to see it and shoot it and see how it performs. No matter what other gun is being shot at the range as far as rifles go, people always seem to be more intrigued with my gun. They are always amazed, when they hear about the amount of wildlife it has taken and the size of the wildlife that it’s has taken! Most seem to never believe a 243 is capable of what my father and I have proved it to be capable of. Sako rifles are truly phenomenal in every sense of the word. They are expensive, but they are well worth the money and the performance, build quality, and beauty, is “second too none” in my opinion!!! The sako 100 rifle that is coming out soon, Has intrigued me and it has caught my interest. I’m nervous about the price though because I know what blaser charges for their system rifle that is very similar! These reloaded say it's probably factory ammo as they all get under a dime size grouping at 100m with the right custom load with no flyers. The Sako shot 40’s better and tikka liked the 32’s
@jeremyharris66352 жыл бұрын
I think the thinner crosshairs on the tikka was the difference. I truely feel they are more closely matched
@BrandonandStacyHunt2 жыл бұрын
This video has brought out a lot of KZbin critics but I have a FFP on the Sako now so will do a repeat, with both shooting both 32 and 40 grain someday

I grew up with Sako rifles here in the states and got spoiled on them. There's lots of great rifles these days but back in the 70's and 80's they were several notches above anything you could get that was made in the USA. I'm proud to shoot a rifle that is made in a country of riflemen and played such a big role in keeping that country free.

So the Tikka is just a slightly lower quality version of the Sako?
@trumptorianguard46172 жыл бұрын
Tikka has a Sako barrel is my understanding with less frills.
@duhni45512 жыл бұрын
Depends on the model. When you get to the high end of each others counterparts, you can't really tell the difference. Since Tikka is SAKO's subdivision, they don't really compete against each others, but Tikka do have lower price range lines than SAKO has. Also Tikka is specializing more to civilian markets where SAKO is specializing more to military markets. For example you can't find 10 000 Dollar sniper rifle from Tikka but you do from SAKO.

God to see your video mister . But please put the rifle on vise or something to reduce the rifle flitch . Bravo

Why did you restrict yourself to only using 10x magnification?
@12vibabaАй бұрын
10x is more than enough. Most of the time even to much for hunting.

I agree, a lot of this is on the shooter. I shot a better than 9/16” group with my Tikka T3X ‘06 at 100yd. I’m pretty sure I could could beat your groups. Both rifles totally capable of sub MOA out of the box.
@nigelbase11962 жыл бұрын
Both rifles made in the same factory ..same barrels..
@duhni45512 жыл бұрын
Well, SAKO and Tikka are one and the same company too, they just have different areas where they specialize in, not that it matters to anyone before you mean to invest more than 3000 Dollars to the rifle.

Same calibre however the different ammo/grains throws variables into question. Not really an even comparison...?

Like what you said "most rifles shoot better than the shooters capabilities".

Can't say that you had the best rest. Tripod with sand bags front and sand bags rear and even the lead sled would have been much better. Good luck
