Hi @Tagyff, If you’re applying after the 10th August 2023, all you need is an overall band score of 6.0 on IELTS Academic. If you’re applying with IELTS Academic before 10th August 2023, you’ll need IELTS 6.0 in each skill. If you’re applying with IELTS General Training, you will need a 6.0 in each skill, before and after 10th August 2023.

There are colleges that don't require overall 6.5... the Canadian Government have planned to initiate this scheme so that more students can study there and then apply for jobs. So if the government has planned this out then there shall be more colleges in the near future that accept this criteria based scores

They said that the government need more people to fill out vacant job openings and this is one of the major reasons why this new rule is being implemented... So if this is the case, hopefully the colleges shall change their requirements soon or atleast even if they don't you can email them and explain your case... Trust me it really helps when you try to negotiate with them

I suggest you to wait until august and according to your course and university requirements if needed you can register for in the last week of august or the first week of September. Although, according to the current guidelines it should be good enough. Hope this helps!

Hi sir, Thank you for your response. I get what you are saying as I had the some concerns but after talking with some people who work in canada, I realised that if the canadian government is changing it's guidelines for students to get visa based on a study permit then this means that the universities will also be obliged to make certain changes to their requirements otherwise yes what will be the use of this update then. We can wait for sometime to get updates from individual Universities. Hope this helps
