Actually I practiced with the Cambridge book and I used to score really good in listening(37) and reading (38) but from past one week I started with the IELTS upgrade which came from IDP after booking my test now m not able to score good ,I find this more complex my score is not going more than 30. Is this one more complex from the Cambridge one???? Or the exam level will be if Cambridge,I am loosing my confidence which I really don't want at this moment.

IDP and British council both are conducting this exam..I took through British council and I also received a book from them but both(Cambridge book and ielts prep book from British council) were of same standards..not much difference..I don't know if there is a difference in IDP and British council in terms of difficulty standard

Hey Liz! Fist of all thank you!! This was my first attempt and i am thankful because i had hardly 15 -20 days for preparation (as that was the possible slot available for me)and i was very frantic and lost,since all the other sites i visited made me more and more anxious and left me confused .Thankfully i came across your site about 4 days prior to my exam and followed the same instructions in my writing tasks. I was initially skeptical because your lessons were easy to understand,in contrast to other sites which said using complicated terms and sentences to get a decent score.I used neither of them and i think i scored pretty decent . I'm planning to take the Ielts (general) test because there are concrete chances that my family might go and stay in England for a while, as my husband has just had a great promotion and the Company where I work has a branch in London. I really appreciated the realistic way you speak about the test and the advice about "what do I want to reach", the tips about thinking deeply about the "why" I think I need the Ielts. Hello from Indonesia, IELTS Liz! :) I studied IELTS for 2 months in a preparation class at Indonesian local institution, Liz. My IELTS simulation score was 5.5. I felt this was not enough. Then, I started to improve my score by : self-studied Cambridge IELTS Series Book, tried to increase my english level by studied grammar and vocabulary book, and absolutely watched many of your videos. Then I took an IELTS simulation again. Praise to Allah, my score was 7! Like you said, it is impossible to achieve high IELTS score when your english level doesn't match. So, beside IELTS skill, I consider to improve my english level too. It is an effective and realistic way to make an improvement in your IELTS score. I am still on my way improving my english level, studying IELTS books, and watching your videos because I am going to take the official IELTS on June :) I focus on my speaking skillI because it was my lowest score (6). Ooooh, I really need an experienced IELTS tutor to be my speaking partner! :) Thank you very much, Liz! In fact, your videos really help me in preparing my official IELTS. Anandita Rizki Hi, It sounds like you are training for IELTS in the right way. Both developing your English language and also building skills for IELTS is the best way forward. Speaking will require you to have very natural spoken English. To get over 6, you will need to chat without much effort (so add lots more to your answers at all times), you need to give plenty of examples and use appropriate vocabulary for the topic.
