Oh no. I need this haha. This is exactly what I've been looking for. Do I have room for it on my bookshelf? No. Do I need to buy more curricula? No. But I need this haha. Thank you for sharing.

Do you think it's really necessary for the homeschool mom/teacher to actually do the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style seminar??
@anydayblessings23545 жыл бұрын
Ok, three questions, lol. 1) Where was this last month when I was finalizing purchases for next year!? 2) Are you taking or have you taken the recommended parent course, TWSS? I am wondering with such a thorough teacher book if it is really needed. 3) I heard you say you called IEW. What did they suggest you do after this? Would you just start the Intensive A?
Anyday Blessings Yes, I’m going to do the teacher intensive.
@EducationalRoots5 жыл бұрын
We could do SWI A or another themed book. I would probably do the SWI A, but not sure.
@EducationalRoots5 жыл бұрын
I explain why I’m doing the teacher intensive in that video, but basically I am doing it for myself, and because I will have my older girl doing the online class. Plus I will get PD credit for it.

We are looking into this curriculum for next year (for my 2nd and 4th graders) and have already purchased Fix-It Grammar. Do you think this and Fix-it would be a comprehensive LA curriculum? Our literature is already covered in history and their 20 minutes assigned reading a day. Would they each need their own student book? This video is so helpful! Thank you so much!
@EducationalRoots2 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes, they would need their own student book and yes, that would be a complete LA program (minus spelling). Keep in mind this and Fix It isn’t really recommended for 2nd though, but maybe you mean they’re in second now.

How did you structure your year with doing the SWI? Did you just work through that first and then start the All Things Fun and Fascinating? Also, do you use other Language Arts along with this or does this replace language arts? My daughter will be in 2nd grade next year and we have been doing Logic of English Foundations. We have gotten through B, so we have not done a lot of grammar. I know they have the PAL writing. I am just not sure if I need to do that first, move forward with LOE, or use something else. 😜🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️

Marcy Bowden Hi! We actually got SSS much later in the year (it’s brand new). So we started with All Things Fun and Fascinating and then moved to SSS (which will take us through first semester of next year as well). Along with writing you should do their grammar as well, plus spelling and of course reading.
@EducationalRoots4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t do this in second grade. They have some themes based books (Bible Heroes or People & Places) that are better for second grade.
@journalofahomeschooler3 жыл бұрын
Would you recommend this for reluctant writer or to start with structure, my son has ADHD and even though I think it’s a good program it just have me thinking if he would be able to stay the amount of time that probably requires for him to be sitting . Would you still recommended and how it work for you guys? I know this is an old video, just got to see🤷🏻♀️
