Is there a companion tool that gives the parent more information on teaching the concepts prior to the writing lesson which they appear? Thanks for the awesome video! I just began looking into wiring curriculums and there are so many to chose from

Hi, yes, there's another book I show here (the hardback book in this video): kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZXYmHWlob9leLc

Hey Natasha! Thank you for your review! We delayed reading for our son and started until 6.5. We chose a slow Reading and Intense Phonics curriculum that takes 3 years for most kids to finish. He turned 9 yesterday. He reads well but slow and has atrocious spelling, we are starting Essentials with Logic of English in the Fall and that should start making a difference. We have not done any extra writing instruction other that was always integrated in Foundations (LOE). Essentials will have a little writing too but I am thinking my boy could benefit from some writing supplement as well as Copywork to aid his spelling. I am just not so sure which level to start with from Writing with Ease. Even the simplest words he writes phonetically, and is hyper distracted that he won’t even start a sentence with capital letters nor write periods if we don’t remind him several times 🤦🏻‍♀️💆🏻‍♀️😅😅 In a nutshell, he is probably two grades “behind” in reading fluency and spelling with little writing instruction. That being said, do you think I could start with Level 2 or 1?

Hi! I would probably do level 1. I feel like level 1 is a bit difficult in the comprehension area and also they give you a choice of passages for copywork, so if one is too easy you can have him do the harder one.

You could always combine 2 days into 1 if you find he is catching on quickly.

Would the grammar in this be thorough enough to use without First Language Lessons?

I don’t think so. If I would choose one I would actually choose First Language Lessons.

@@EducationalRoots Can writing with ease and first lessons be used at the same time? I thought one was used for literature arts study and the other for writing skills. Do they teach the exact same way?

@@RBarlow04 First Language Lessons is grammar. They can be used at the same time (and are meant to).
